OOC question: is it canon that Shockwave was the reason behind Vos’ fall in this Prime continuity? I know there’s books about the events that happened before the show, but I’ve never read them, and am wondering if you have?

((Yep, it's canon. In Exodus there's like a half chapter (it's its own section but it's in between chapter 15 and 16) that summarizes a bunch of event in the war, and it says Shockwave was kind of put in charge of Vos alongside Starscream (basically to keep an eye on him?) and he bombed Tarn and then Vos was bombed. Later, in chapter 19, Shockwave directly gloats to Starscream that he was the one responsible for both bombings.

I've read all the Prime related books, and I consider Exodus and Exiles canon for my blog, and the Covenant of Primus canon only where it doesn't retcon the other sources or contradict established world building. I also consider the games mostly canon, but where there are contradictions between the books and games, I favor the books, because they line up more closely to the personalities and history we see in the TV series. I don't acknowledge the third novel at all and I wish I could un-read it (except some of the parts that take place on Cybertron). The Rage of the Dinobots and Beast Hunters comics are also very interesting and I consider them canon. Then there are some tie-in comics that were published in magazines, and I've only read a couple. They vary in quality. I'll try and find all my books for if you have more specific questions, but here's my reference copy of Exodus, in all its dog-eared and bookmarked glory lol

Reading this book made me truly fall in love with Transformers on a much deeper level, and inspired so many headcanons.

i saw a universe once where the war didn't destroy cybertron and the only city that was bombed and leveled was vos. i dont remember which side bombed it in that universe but the fighting ended and vosnians were blamed for starting the whole thing. and since vos was gone there was nowhere for seekers and other flight frames to run and hide when all of the other types of bots decided that they didn't deserve rights anymore. all flight frames became slaves, even newsparks that were born afterwards.

I wish I could say that sounded far-fetched...

Vosnians have never been exactly trusted, and even here where the war took everything, Vos was not mourned the way other cities were. Why do you think I won’t rest until I bring us back, and give us a place in this world again? No one else is going to do it.

I used to think you were heartless (sparkless) but not when I see you talk about Vos.

My Spark is always with my city, so what need did I have for it while Vos lay in ruins? It wouldn’t have helped me take anything back.

still cant believe you killed off all of the autobot seekers, you got lucky that there are a few left that were scattered across space. like what would have done if you LITERALLY were the last seeker alive?

First of all, I didn’t kill all of them, only the ones that set themselves my forces in combat. You know, in the war? Should I have simply let them kill the Seekers on my side? I gave traitors no quarter, but I didn’t seek them out or hunt them down. There were Autobot Seekers alive on many of the ships that fled Cybertron, just as there were Seekers on the Decepticon ships. We were few, yes, and scattered, but not extinct. 

I was never going to be the last Seeker alive, though I admit it felt that way at times. I was alone for centuries on the Nemesis, thanks to Megatron’s design. He wasted my troops right before my eyes, and held me responsible for losses incurred on his suicide missions. All that did was fuel my desire to re-unite my people and rebuild, though it took far longer than I could have guessed, and I didn’t get to kill him along the way. It felt that way, too, when I was alone after the war, and the knowledge that the Well was producing new Seekers who were being greeted and raised by Autobots at times made the sting sharper. Our numbers may have been growing but our culture was still in danger of extinction. That is my role for the time being, and Seekers have flocked to help me. I even gave files to Ratchet of all people, so the young Seekers could at least get a taste of what was lost...

Even if I had been the last Seeker, I would do what I am doing now. Rebuilding Vos, waiting for the AllSpark grant me restoration and fill my skies with wings again.

I have seen videos of it. And I can’t say I like that song. I appreciate its quality, but... I don’t think I’d listen to it ever again.

the only seeker smaller than you is phoenix and thats only because she was super short as a human. also when you were human, you were on the short end of the scale for guys.

That’s because nearly the entire civilian population of Seekers was vaporized along with Vos! A lot of them were around her size - ordinary bots who weren’t supposed to get caught up in the war! Air Command Seekers were fighting in other locations, and they tended to be bigger!

That was Megatron’s doing. And Shockwave’s. But...

I can’t believe I didn’t see it coming. There must have been a way to stop it.

I read the post behind the link… omg… I mean I know that the tf universe isn’t real life and all (sadly), but that… makes me feel like crying… such pointless pain and suffering…… :’(

((It’s one of the saddest things I have ever written. I think about Vos a lot, and what would actually happen if you just vaporized a city that big. The novel spends only a couple of sentences on it, and makes no mention of the people who lived there besides the officers Starscream lost. Sometimes when I write about Vos I make myself really sad.))
