Thanksgiving Centerpiece

For this Thanksgiving centerpiece I used a vintage silver vase in the shape of a pail. I crowned the pail with deep orange ribbon, excelsior straw, and real turkey eggs. The centerpiece sits atop an octagonal beveled mirror embellished with pomegranates, cranberries, and a tail feather from a Lady Amherst pheasant.

Autumn Leaves

The changing colors of Autumn leaves is a great inspiration for a table setting. This dinner party was hosted by my friends at their Napa Valley home. My host let the leaf pattern table cloth set the tone and color scheme for this table. I think the over sized leaf salad plates are fabulous. A heart felt thanks to my hosts for an evening of delicious food and spirited conversation.

Autumn lunch

This is a simple table setting for lunch with another couple. I used the fall colors in the hand embroidered table cloth as an inspiration. The dishes are Florentine by J&G Meakin, England. They feature an ivory background with a lacey brown border and a small cluster of roses at the center. The leaf shape salad plates were purchased at a supermarket. The “twig” flatware in bronze is by Pottery Barn. The fun majolica frog water pitcher is by Bordallo Pinheiro of Portugal. The centerpiece vase is Dahlrose by Roseville pottery circa 1920. I filled it with Japanese maple clippings, coleus, and a single New Day rose.
