This campus is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the fall. Wow.
Last weekend Sideshow, UD's women's ultimate frisbee team, hosted a tournament! The two day tournament was a blast! We played University of Maryland, Towson, Hofstra University, the UD alumni team and others. It was a great weekend and to top it all off my team ended up coming in third! GO SIDESHOW!!!!
Adulthood is in my future... and I'm not liking it.
Not half an hour ago, I was sitting in Allison Hall nearing the end of my GRE.
It is at times like this that I need reminders of why I'm here and why all of the stress and sleeplessness is worth it.
My plans for post graduation (which has an ever growing and looming presence in my life) have drastically changed over the last month. I came into my senior year having made the decision that I was going to wait to apply to graduate school. In art conservation there are only 5 North American graduate programs, all of which are highly selective. The more experience you have, the better chance you have of being accepted. I was going to pursue work and internship opportunities, all of which would be working towards a strong application in the near future.
Then at the end of September I had a long and stressful meeting with advisor and family. My decisions changed and now I am in the process of compiling everything I need to apply to grad school this year. On top of this, I am also applying for work and internships as a backup. A semester that would have been one of my least stressful has suddenly transformed into a monster of stress, tears and GRE practice problems. I just gotta keep chugging along, because I know there are so many amazing things in the future that will make this all worth it.
This past week in my environmental physics class we have been learning about renewable energy sources, specifically hydrogen fuel cells and their use in the transportation industry. To conclude this chapter my class was able to take a ride on UDs very own hydrogen fuel cell/ electric bus. The ride was pretty normal, but being able to take a look at the inside and to be able to understand how the bus was able to run with out giving off any emissions (aside from water) was awesome and very impressive!
My first trip to the oh-so-famous Milburn Orchard!
So, this weekend, my friends and I took a trip to Milburn Orchards! It's only like ten minutes from campus, which makes it a favorite for college kids, especially around this time of year. We went apple picking (they're picking Fuji apples right now, which are some of my favorite kinds!), got apple cider donuts, went on a hayride, and of course bought wristbands to enter the fun zone - a place made for little kids that we thoroughly enjoyed anyway. It was the perfect way to spend a completely gorgeous fall day!
I love this campus more and more each day
