I was too comfortable to see where the world was headed. Now that my daughter is older, I need to educate myself on the ways of this wicked world. Cause she’s going to want more than, “we were slaves and white people called us niggers, beat and hung black men/women from trees, raped our women and fed our babies to crocodiles in swamps.” At a young age I had to teach my daughter the power she had by reading at the age of 3. Reading is the solid structure to how we learn. She unlocked something no one can take from her, and that’s the ability to teach herself and be taught. Reading is indeed fundamental.
