Week 13 (13th - 20th Apr) - Releasing & Reviewing the Alpha!
Okay! So this week was the deadline for the alpha build and my god was it crunch-time. I was hoping to release a bug-free build, but after 20 attempts of building the game I decided enough was enough! And so, I released it to my peers so they could finally play test the game.
I was really happy with my work ethic this week, although the alpha did deliver some awkward bugs and frame rate issues. - Apologies for the late blog post as well! I wanted to use all my time to just focus on the games release. - But I was really happy to see how many people were excited to play and test it.
In this weeks Development Vlog - Week 13, I go over what I worked on and what I hope to achieve in the coming weeks! With the addition of some juicy game-play by @samuel-peter-wilson! Appreciate all the testers providing feedback to make this a better game.
The highlight of the week is making the game playable from start to finish. Meaning I had to deal with things like menu navigation, re-spawn and much more!
This milestone will now force me to polish the game, continue to add puzzles and start on my final report. I will also endeavour to play-test my peers work and I can’t wait to see what they have produced!
Next week I’ll probably talk about upcoming changes and so on. There is a lot to repair 😂 Turns out the biggest killer is fall damage so watch out folks! But until then, take it easy and stay humble! Cheers! 😎
