Playtester Applications for Episode 3 are Open!

Hello all!

To fully test the Episode 3 alpha before its launch later this year on Patreon, I am expanding Wayfarer’s playtester team. If this is of interest to you, please check out the information below.

✦ What Does Playtesting Entail?

Playtesters play the alpha build in search of bugs, continuity errors, and typos. They are essentially an extra set of eyes on the game before new content is released. Because Wayfarer’s gameplay includes hundreds of choices and many, many variations that build on each other, playing multiple times and checking out different options is essential for testing to make sure each area of the game functions as intended.

As a playtester, you will be responsible for reporting any errors or bugs you find. You may be asked to restart the game from specific points, so you must be willing to replay multiple times and keep different save files on hand for ease of access.

✦ Requirements & Availability

You must be 18+.

Playtesting is a volunteer position.

You will be credited in-game as a playtester (this is opt-in).

You must have a Discord account.

All communication with the playtesting team is done through the private playtesting Discord server. You must be willing to be active in the server and submit your bug reports through the designated channels. I do not accept playtester bug reports through any other method. If you are inactive or do not respond to regular communications, you will be removed as a playtester.  

You must be willing to play Episode 3 more than once.  

You must keep the playtester build link and password private. As a playtester, you are the first set of eyes on new content and you are trusted not to share it. If you leak the playtester build, you will be banned.

You must be available to playtest from late October to early December 2025.

If at any point you are no longer interested or do not have the time to be involved, you can opt out, no questions asked!

Your answers on the application form are kept strictly confidential.

Applications are accepted from September 26, 2025 to October 17, 2025. I will contact selected playtesters via email by October 21, 2025.
