It was not surprising that inevitably he would try something a lot more risky. After all, if was hard to get enough sweeping the streets and luring in victims with his flute. He had done that several times in this country already, and word was beginning to spread.. but he did not have enough to accomplish his goal. So, it only stood to reason that he should aim higher.
The palace, however, was a different game all together. Getting past the guards was easy enough- they had no idea he was there. It was the so called “Eight Generals” and the king he was worried about. He had heard tales about them, and being caught by one would not be pretty in the slightest. Not saying, however, that he could not handle himself in a fight. Oh no, he could do that quite well. But the whole affair would be noisy and frankly, a pain.
It was easy to see how well off the king was once inside, and far too easy to pick stuff off and slip them in his bag. Who would notice small trinkets and gold? Or perhaps the small vase or decoration? Rather, entitled nobles who wasted money on such fine things did not deserve to miss them. His thoughts turned dark as the blonde stuffed another item in his bag, and almost missed the telltale sign of footsteps. He grabbed his bag and darted out of sight, ducking behind the nearest pillar. He waited, listening for the sounds to disappear and for him to be alone.
