for  as  much  as  tobias  had  been  splitting  his  time  between  the  baratheon  and  tarth  apartments  (  spending most of that time in  the  latter  ,  as  calla  insisted  he  recover  with  family  around  him  )  ,  he  had  had  little  time  to  check  in  with  his  lieges  .  and  although  he  is  sworn  to  aravis  first  and  foremost  ,  he  still  extends  his  allegiance  to  the  rest  of  house  baratheon  ,  @fallencrxwns​  included  ,  “  i’ve  been  informed  that  i  can  do  very  little  in  the  way  of  my sworn duties for  the  time  being  .  ​but i would still like to know if there is anything else i can do to help . ” a small sigh leaks from barely parted lips . he trusts the baratheon guards , of course , as in many ways he counted himself among them , but he would always have a twinge of concern anyway .

the two sisters were, for perhaps the first time in their lives, almost inseparable, and while celia enjoyed the newfound closeness, she also wanted to experience the delights of sunspear. it had taken cajoling, arguing, and some not very subtle hints that baby benjen was just as unhappy in the heat as they were to get ravella agree upon a visit to the water gardens. they had scarcely arrived before celia was toeing off both shoes, pulling up her skirts, and wading into the water. a sigh of relief escaped as the coolness enveloped her feet, though she only enjoyed it for a moment longer before gesturing at her sister. 　“ come on, ravella  ﹔  there’s no need to be so proper when it’s just us. it feels wondrous. ”

“  cissa  ,  i  hope  you’ve  been  faring  well  ,  ”  osric  greets  ,  grinning  as  per  usual  ,  “  did  you  miss  me  terribly  ?  ”  he  asks  ,  solely  in  jest  .  between  aster  ,  the  baby  she’s  carrying  ,  and  tharon  ,  he  can’t  see  her  concerning  herself  with  him  too  much  ,  if  at  all  .  but  the  opportunity  to  rib  his  friends  and  family  is  one  he  always  loves  to  take  .

though as quiet as ever, ravella had seemed very happy with her northern home during her stay at raventree hall, and despite the visit being a mere two months ago, celia was keen to reunite and see the vaunted castle winterfell in person. upon arrival, however, their traveling party was greeted by a steward rather than the youngest blackwood sister. he explained that the queen was more comfortable remaining stationary at this point in her pregnancy, so vevienne accompanied the man to arrange the transfer of belongings to their assigned rooms and celia instructed a nearby maid to take her to the queen's parlor. 

once there, celia waved away the girl’s offer of announcing her arrival, choosing instead to open the door herself with a loud cry of   “ sister! ”   upon seeing ravella seated on a couch by the fire, she swept through the room to sit next to her, taking a moment to adjust her skirts before grasping the other’s hands in her own.   “ how delightful to see you! you’re looking quite large. ”   a pause, as though that is all there is to be said, before continuing,   “ the sign of a healthy babe, no doubt. how lovely that we arrived before it did   —   now, i can’t promise i will be in the room, as such an event would likely be far too stressful for my complexion, but i’m sure that the knowledge of your sisters being here in support and the babe’s excitement to meet its aunts will make the birth quick and painless. ”

“  i  know  we  can’t  remain  here  forever  ,  but  i  am  …  sad  to  leave  .  ”  tobias  confesses  ,  earnest  despite  his  impassive  expression  as  he  takes  in  the  bustling  activity  around  him  .    “  i  will  miss  this  place  .  ”  he  elaborates  .  not  the  crowds  ,  of  course  ,  but  the  peace  he  felt  looking  out  on  the  landscape  ,  the  way  the  north  seemed  so  much  quieter  than  the  south  —  thoughts  that  came  to  him  when  he  had  spoken  to  the  baratheon  last  .  but  there  was  no  telling  when  he  would  return  to  the  northern  kingdom  ,  so  long  as  he  served  as  someone  sworn  shield  .  but  he  liked  to  believe  his  days  as  a  hedge  knight  were  over  .

coming  off  of  the  dance  floor  for  a  bit  of  respite  ,  osric  grins  from  ear  to  ear  .  as  he  walks  ,  plucks  a  goblet  of  wine  from  a  nearby  cupbearer  ,  making  a  beeline  for  the  first  familiar  face  he  sees  ,  “  so  ,  were  you  the  one  who  chose  tharon’s  attire  this  evening  ,  or  did  he  manage  to  come  up  with  it  himself  ?  ”  he  asks  ,  mostly  in  jest  ,  as  he  slides  over  to  stand  at  narcissa’s  side  ,  taking  an  exploratory  sip  of  his  drink  —  an  arbor  gold  ,  by  the  taste  of  it  .

          though  the  task  would  prove  fruitless  ,  she  had  done  her  best  to  avoid  house  targaryen  altogether  .  what  she  once  saw  as  a  powerful  house  was  now  soiled  in  its  image  ,  a  disappointment  to  not  only  her  but  their  people  -  not  that  she  cared  ,  but  their  desperation  for  peace  was  not  something  she  saw  as  respected  .  when  you  rule  westeros  ,  you  shouldn’t  have  to  show  your  belly  and  lay  down  while  foolish  northerners  invade  your  home  ...  but  then  again  ,  their  prince  is  married  to  one  ,  so  perhaps  their  loyalties  have  changed  now  .  the  hatred  she  felt  for  him  when  he  left  her  for  a  northern  witch  raged  as  his  silhouette  came  into  view  .   ❝   do  you  find  pleasure  in  making  me  miserable  ,  your  grace  ?  there  is  nothing  i  wish  to  say  to  you  .   ❞

          targaryen  guards  lead  him  down  a  hallway  and  to  a  room  where  he’s  told  rhaegar  is  ,  a  knock  at  the  door  with  a  few  words  spoken  first  .  rhys  waits  patiently  and  then  enters  ,  a  grin  already  plastered  onto  his  face  .  ❝   prince  rhaegar  ,   ❞   lord  manderly  bows  his  head  and  takes  a  quick  glance  around  the  room  to  make  sure  his  sister  is  no  where  to  be  seen  .  he  wants  to  have  a  conversation  with  his  brother  in  law  and  an  honest  one  at  that  .   ❝   my  apologies  for  bothering  you  ,  but  i  was  wondering  if  i  could  perhaps  have  a  word  ?   ❞
