174. "Their lives are in your hands!"
( ➹ ;; fallenelegance. ---- )
His tone is neither harsh nor showing of any contempt now that he sends the words over his shoulder; in fact, he is simply being honest.
" ------ I did not expect company."
"Your son has offered to teach me the skill of archery" Eilonwy explained, "But..I wanted your permission to allow him to do so?" She asked, for a princess it was strange to be taught how to fight, yet Eilonwy wanted to know how to defend herself properly.
"You and Legolas have become good friends," Thranduil pondered her request, considering the advantages. "Yes, I do give you permission. I am glad you came to ask me, as opposed to going behind my back." the king smiled slightly, lowering his head. "Do not be careless with your bow around my son, though. I would not forgive if anything were to go wrong."
Eilonwy walked into the throne room, looking up toward the king, tears in her eyes. "I couldn't find any." She explained, "There wasn't any survivors..." She whispered, looking down to her feet, how the young princess had hoped to find her people, but it appears that she was the only one left. "They killed all of them..I thought that there could have been hope...but I was wrong.."
Thranduil straightened in his throne. “Who killed them?” he stood up, his eyes held on her, and walked down the staircase slowly to meet the girl below. “Please, take a moment to explain, if you are able.”
"Come on! You said you were going to teach me how to shoot with a bow and arrow!"
"I'm coming! My other boot is missing." Legolas said as his eyes surveyed the area. How the hell did he misplace his boot? His father was always telling him to be more careful and here he was running around without one of his shoes. "Can't you help me look or something?"
