🏺 — “Never gets old, does it?” the progenitor said to his doppelganger. It was a rhetorical question, meant for sarcasm and irony. Irony was that Stefan had worn their shared face for longer than Silas had, in terms of life experience. He had spent more time roaming the earth. “Whatever force brought us back clearly has a sense of humor. Or, it has nothing to do with us. Hell or peace -- death is all the same in the end.”

do you think there's a possibility that stefan and valerie could reconnect?

･☽༓☾･ — Sure there is. The only problem I see is Stefan not being ready for it, even if he thinks he is. Val had over a decade to figure herself out again. The fact that it lead her to Mystic Falls is great news – it shows she’s still very connected to that part of her past. But for our Salvatore brother?  Yikes. He’s not only back from beyond the grave.. but he’s human now. It wouldn’t be such a big deal under normal circumstances. It’s not like he won’t figure himself out eventually, even if his time is now drastically limited, but Valerie is not human. The life they wanted in 1863 is impossible, and the one they were entertaining in 2016 is gone too. I think it’s salvageable but it won’t be easy on Stefan.

To say goodbye to this card, I feel it’s illuminating the fact Stefan’s lifelong quest to repress his ripper side has finally come to an end. He’s human, and alive, and this new year will be his chance to explore what that means for him.

Valerie had been wandering throughout the town when her eyes fell upon the familiar bench. The fact it still stood there definitely brought a smile to her face. She promptly took a seat before pulling out her little journal. She pulled out the pen next before she began to write. Valerie mostly wrote about how she decided to return to Mystic Falls and what she hoped would come from it.
