Fall Jamboree
With the Featherlite Fall Jamboree coming up, the USMTS points race is going to be a good one. With Dustin Sorenson ahead of Tanner Mullins by 82 points these next 3 races come in big not just for Tanner and Dustin, but also Dereck Rameriz. These 3 need these races big time to decide who wins the points and the USMTS title. A favorite for these races could be Jake O’ Neil. He has 8 wins on the season which is the most of anybody with Dustin Sorenson and Dereck Rameriz following winning only 5 races.
The Grant Junghans Rookie of the year race also tightens up as Cayden Carter, Kyle Brown and Shane DeVolder fight for that this weekend also. Cayden Carter leads Kyle Brown by 208 points and Shane DeVolder by 235 points. So if you go watch the races don’t just watch the points race for the championship but also the rookie of the year race as the year starts to come to its end.
There could be a dark horse in the field also in Jim Chisholm. He has been dominating at Deer Creek in their weekly races and he won the championship which makes him the dark horse. He has the experience running the USMTS boys as he won the last race during the Labor day races. I personally will be rooting for Dereck Rameriz because he is a driver that I like.
The cash prizes for the 3 nights for the B-Mods is $500 the first and second light and $1,500 the final night. For the USMTS modifieds it is $3,000 the first night, $5,000 the second night and an amazing $12,000 the third and final night. Tickets to go watch the races are $35 for adults and $25 for kids on Thursday while Friday and Saturday it is $40 for adults and $30 for kids.
With 6 races left including the Fall Jamboree ( 3 races) We will see how this race for the championship shapes out as these 3 and others are pushing for the elusive championship and rookie of the year.
