OOC: Meeting Transcript
Lucifer looks around the room with a tight smile, making eye contact with each of his people. "I would like to express my appreciation for your timely arrivals. We have a great deal of business to discuss this evening, so let's get right to it, shall we?" Waves a hand in the air to take in the state of the surgical suite with its flaking paint and damaged walls and moldy carpeting. "This facility is no longer up to our standards. We will be relocating to a military base outside of Chicago. Nora, maps and specs please."
Nora, with a nod and acute promptness, reaches into her bag and pulls out a nondescript folder. "I've gone ahead and calculated the distances, marked out our easiest path, and where the Croats have populated the least. We'll be able to make a swift move if everyone cooperates." She slides the folder across the table to Lucifer.
Alastair materializes beside Lucifer and smiles. "My sincerest apologies on being tardy. I ran into some trouble on the way. But they were dealt with accordingly. And as much as I would love to continue wherever we may have left off. Did someone make sure to sweep the room for any unwanted magic at all?"
Lucifer curls fingers around the folder, looking up at Alastair with his usual unruffled calm. "I do so hope that the delay was worth it, Alastair. You truly think that someone could have gotten in here past our guards? Without being eaten first? Or...do you suspect a traitor?" Passes his gaze over those assembled, looking at each in turn.
Alastair nods as Lucifer speaks then leans forward, "Well you can never be too sure. I know we are something hard to get past but once we start acting like we are indeed invincible is when the chinks in our armor start to show."
Lucifer waves a hand as he flips open the folder, paging through the documents inside of it. "Very well. Soothe your paranoia, Alastair. Check."
Nora looks back and forth between the two met, settling back in her chair and readying her pen against her notebook for note taking. "Can't ever be too sure."
Alastair stands up and walks around the room muttering under his breath in a Enochian, seeking out any kind of magic. He is pleased that he can't find any at the moment to be sure he walks slowly around the table and places up a couple wards so that nothing can be heard beyond the reach of their table. With a smile on his face he returns back to his seat beside Lucifer. "There is nothing, there can be nothing, and I placed another spell to make sure."
Lucifer "So, are we satisfied now and ready to continue?"
Alastair angles his body towards Lucifer with a grin still on his face, "Very much so.
Lucifer nods at his Left, bemused, and flips the topmost pages out onto the table surface, displaying the map of the route their little caravan would be taking. "This is the route we will be travelling, and we will be moving both day and night. I want this relocation accomplished as quickly as possible."
Jessica "i'm afraid I wouldn't be too much help during the day." speaks up, looking at Lucifer directly.
Alastair raises a hand. "I could fix that if she pledged her fealty to you in Enochian as insurance."
Lucifer looks over at Alastair, one eyebrow raised. "Not that I'm opposed to a formal oath of fealty, but what manner of work did you have in mind? We have a few plans drawn up already, but one more contingency never hurts."
Alastair "Well I wasn't suggesting anything else than your plan so to speak. We would travel at the same times. But it's been brought to my attention there are charms and such that can allow a vampire to walk in the sun. And you know I am capable of much."
Nora perks up and leans forward, finally butting in. "You can allow vampires to walk in the daylight?"
Lucifer settles back in his chair, curiosity plain. "By all means, Alastair. Explain."
Alastair "One of our own had a ring that allowed her to do so. So of course I can take it, tinker around, find out the magic and replicate it."
Lucifer "Who? And how long will this take you, Alastair? I want to be moved out of here and on the move within a week."
Alastair "Well if you allow me to find her now, I could have this done by sunrise tomorrow. It should be no difficulty at all."
Alastair "Rebekah Mikaelson."
Lucifer "Excellent. Go and find her and set to work immediately. Take however many demons with you to gather the necessary materials." Looks over at Nora after dismissing Alastair, asking, "is there anyone among the vampires you'd wish to use as a guinea pig?"
Alastair stands up and bows sort of formally, "Thank you. I'll return with good news and when I am finished." He disappears after he speaks.
Nora sighs, discontent with the nature of the question. "I'd hate to sacrifice little Jessica over here... Perhaps we can find someone else." She turns her attention to the redhead with a smile. "Don't worry. You'll be a last resort, darling."
Jessica gives a nod with a small smile "it's highly appreciated"
Nora grins. "Of course, darling. We've a history. I wouldn't use one of my own before using someone that's worthy of a sacrifice."
Jessica raises an eyesbrow slightly. "anyone specific come to mind?"
Lucifer nods at the accord between the two females. "Barring a successful charm, and I have utter faith in Alastair's skill with magical crafting, we still have the travel coffins as a back up. But prepare yourselves ladies because this will be a forced march all the way to Great Lakes Naval Base, outside of Chicago, on Lake Michigan." Sets out the maps of the base Nora had collected on the table for all to see. "We'll have power, food for the humans, room to build proper pens for the Croats. And it will move us within a closer striking distance to Camp Chitaqua. We'll be breathing down their necks and won't have a clue."
Nora nods, leaning into Lucifer's space a bit more. "We'll only be about 500 miles away, which is within a reasonable striking distance. And I'll be able to shuffle between the camps faster and easier."
strawberry fields forever // lucifer and eric
Listening is waiting. Now he is knee deep in his head's footnotes, and his eyes are closing. He'll take your complex out of context, and you can stop your posing.
They gentle, soft whirring of the dusktime bugs as they fly over his head send a gentle wash of calm over Eric as he lays back against the cool grass of the meadow. It's morning, early, right before the sun comes up and when he looks to his left he sees Sam. Sam with his gentle eyes and his even gentler smile, holding his arms open and beckoning Eric into them. He wonders fleetingly how it's possible for Sam to be here when the sun is so close on the horizon, and Eric can't see his protection charm, but his thoughts are erased when he finally lands his head against Sam's chest and he hears a heartbeat. Sam's body is warm against his, but neither are dressed in the plainclothes of their post-apocalyptic nightmare. Sam is wearing a white tunic, and Eric's dressed in fancier royal clothing. He doesn't know where they got these clothes from, but part of him feels like they aren't exactly in 2015 anymore. It feels older, but Sam is with him so he doesn't exactly have time to worry about it.
The sun's rays are billowing over the land, painting everything with a gorgeous purple-yellow-red glow. He closes his eyes and inhales, and it smells like the sea in winter. It smells like wheat and honey. It smells like everything good and right, it smells of home. This feels like home. It might only be a dream but this is the happiest, most content he's felt in a long time. The most at ease. The most... safe. Here. With Sam.
He sighs contently, burrowing his face deeper into the fabric against his face. He's half expecting Sam to say something, half hoping that Sam doesn't say anything as he reaches out and laces their fingers. Sam's hands don't feel quite as soft as they do in the real world, but this isn't really Sam, it's just a his imagination playing the little vampire in his dream, only here Sam is human, and he can tell as much from the heart beating inside the chest underneath his head. The heart is strong, beating freely and securely beneath skin and Eric grins. He's never felt happier. This is how it should be, this is how they should be, here in Eric's kingdom where he can keep them safe and warm, without worry or intrusion, without fear and without wondering whether the next moment they spend with each other will be the last. It's bright here, and it matches everything Eric wants them to be.
With the grin still plastered on his face, he lifts his head and isn't met with the smiling face of Sam Winchester. He's met with the smug grin of Lucifer, with his fingers locked behind his head and he's just sitting there like he wasn't just Sam.
"Lucifer!" Eric jumps up, pushing himself off the man with his hands, quickly and without much grace as he scrambles away, not frightened, merely shocked.
"Lucifer, what are you doing here? I thought I was dreaming!"
