This is Trautvetteria caroliniensis, called Carolina bugbane, tassel-rue, false rue, and false baneberry, which is why I almost accidentally added to my baneberry post as an example of baneberry flowers before I realized what it actually was. This plant doesn’t form berries, the inflorescence is a panicle instead of a raceme, and it isn’t used for anything, so far as I can tell. It’s the only species of Trautvetteria, though, which is kinda cool.
