Maya is the worst friend. After spending a lot of her disposable income on Kaoru’s sweets, she’d run out of money. And with her birthday being so close, Maya threw herself into even more work to be able to afford what she wanted to get her as a gift.
She raised the money, thanks to her new theater job (which she loved), but because she focused on that, she hadn’t realized the date until it was too late.
So here she is, panting in front of Kaoru’s door, with a sweets box in one hand and a very long box in the other.
「Kaoru-san, I’m so sorry!!」 she yells out before Kaoru has a chance to say anything. 「I wanted to do something nice for your birthday but it completely passed me by and I’m sorry I’m a terrible friend! I brought these to make up for it but...」
She’s always apologizing, it’s probably annoying Kaoru. She squeaks out another apology and bows her head to avoid looking at her.
