ALASKALASKA. I’m currently keeping an eye on this indie band because their sound is so unique. They hail from London, and incorporate quite a blend of styles (Alpine immediately comes to mind, a little Wet) just on the three songs they’ve released since woozily popping on the scene. “Patience” is my current favorite of the three songs, set to appear on their upcoming, self-titled EP. I like this song in particular because of the interesting us of auto-tune on the vocals, the overall bouncy 90′s vibe, and the great sax and guitar instrumental come-back at the end of the track. Can’t wait for more from this band!

The AA-side to ALASKALASKA’s debut is “Familiar Ways,” a track that drifts into dream pop territory, complementing “Bitter Winter” with its tumbling vocal progressions and prominent brass. Their debut self-titled EP is due out 9/29; follow ALASKALASKA for more info.
