I just want to say something for all who care and maybe agree with me and are sick of all the hate and endless pointless discussions: I like James Potter I also like Severus Snape I see that both bullied without a reason and there's no excuse for that. I also see that both changed and either grew up to fight for the good or was driven to the good side by kinda selfish motives first and realised it's actually the right thing to do. I see that both were brave as hell. And both LOVED (quote JKR) very much. So what? Why can't we all see that different people have different opinions? Some might like James more or less and some might like Severus more or less, it's everyone's own beer what they think, but could people please stop to either glorify or vilify the one or the other? What's the point in that? Both had flaws and both had good sides, Sirius taught us that, didn't he? The world isn't split in good people and death eaters, we all have light and dark inside us I think James and Severus is the best example for that. You can dislike Snape, it's understandable, but please do it civilised. It's okay there's enough reason to dislike him, you don't need to deny the good sides he had or make up things to vilify him. Please admit to the good sides he had, but say you don't like him anyway because of his bad sides. And you can dislike James, but please do it civilised. It's okay there's enough reason to like them, but flaws are only human so there's no shame in admitting them. Also you can even like both or dislike both. You don't have to hate Severus just because you like James. You don't have to hate Severus just because you ship Jily. You don't have to hate James just because you like Severus. And you don't have to hate James, just because you ship Snily. Guess what? I ship Jily, but I like Snape anyway, he's not my fave or anything, but I value him a lot. Same goes for James, although I love the FRIENDSHIP of Lily and Snape. Please, I'm just tired of this fight between fans. Everyone is talking about how they wish that the house rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin would end after the war and everything, so what is this? Couldn't we stop with this rivalry? In the end both died for the good cause, both were somehow heroic in their own way (or not, some might not see that) but please just stop fighting and discussing! You won't convince anyone who loves Snape that he was evil, you won't convince someone who loves James, that he was evil. You won't convince someone who hates Snape that he was good and you won't convince someone who hates James that he was good. And that's okay, everyone's got their own opinion, so could we please all just state our opinion, listen to others, even state some arguments, but DON'T INSULT EACH OTHER AND DON'T DENY OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINION. JUST TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT AND ACCEPT OTHER OPINIONS! You can say: Hey I think differently about it, but I accept your opinion, nice to talk to you. Don't let their deaths be in vain. Let's just all sit together and admire this wonderful series and its wonderful characters together instead of fighting over it. (Same goes for all of the other characters that are often subject of discussions that get carried away) Thanks for listening :)
