I finally hit up Fancy Franks, the gourmet hot dog franchise in Toronto. Their College Street location was jammed packed at 10 PM on a Thursday. I got myself a Frankie Goes to Buffalo that had carrots, celery, blue cheese, chicken bacon, and buffalo wing sauce on a panko fried wiener. Dang, it was a tasty little number. The bun was deep, but most of that space was filled by the panko fried covering of the dog. It took me much longer to finish than I had anticipated, and by the end of it I had yet to decipher where the chicken bacon was. Could it be it was wrapped inside the panko fried dog? Could they have forgotten to put it on? Some mysteries are best left unexplained. No matter, I intend to return to Fancy Frank’s soon and dine on another signature dog.
