Evolution of a Sketch

I finally finished my Ressler sketch and I wanted to see how it evolved all on one post and Tumblr seems to be the best place for this kind of thing.

Although on future sketches I am going to approach drawing differently and rlly attempt to get the ratios right in the first place to save my nerves! 😅

Here they are. I actually kind of like the original rough sketch. I did it very quickly and I was kind of proud of myself for getting those results within a couple hours. But of course my favourite is the final bc the ratios were finally as close to accurate as I could muster. Also, even though it’s kinda busy, it was rlly fun doing a background of oak leaf foliage.

Celebrating my one week anniversary of discovering Brian Wilson with another quickie:

I made a very quick sketch on my iPad of Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys circa late sixties. I didn’t even know who this was until 2 days ago when I saw the below clip on IG and I was instantly moved by his musicality. And now I’m completely obsessed listening to all The Beach Boys albums, watching videos and movies etc. This man oozes talent I just can’t.

- was mulling over some fanart I did last Fall and realized the posture was almost duplicated on the show. Not exact by any means. (And I knew at the time that I didn’t replicate Diego’s perfect profile, but oh well. I was very happy with Liz.)
