A few come to mind. Harry Potter and What Might Have Been is unfortunately not online anymore, but it was an AU retelling of the HP series where Harry was raised by Minerva McG and Albus (before we found out he was a manipulative bastard) and it was BEAUTIFUL.
Any fic by @ofhouseadama is beautifully gorgeous, rich story-telling and very very insightful to the characters she writes.
Since getting into DBM, my favorite fic authors are @andallthatmishigas and @rahleeyah for Jean and Lucien fics, and @aliceharveys, @professortennant, @actuallylorelaigilmore, and @ellie5192 for my favorites, Matthew and Alice.
A Messy Kind of Love by @rahleeyah actually inspired Wounded Hearts. AKA, me pestering Leah about when Matthew and Alice were going to show up, her confessing AMKOL wasn’t going that far into the series, me wondering how that universe would work with my favorites versus Jean and Lucien, and her chanting “Do it! Do it! Do it!” in the wings until I started writing it lmao
For my non-DBM fics, The Alchemy of Stardust/The Alchemy of Starlight by @fandammit helped me figure out how to do a season one/two retelling of the 100 with my Sense8 AU: In My End You Are My Beginning (plus me pestering Lelanie about what’s it like to live in the SW USA when developing my Western Clans lmao)
