So if onaf is your descendent, then by fandom terms who is your ancestor? Who inspired you to creation?
Fandom anatomy, biology, and ancestry is absolutely fascinating. There are no true concrete answers to these questions, but I believe that my creator is Scott Cawthon, who was inspired by horror games, Chuck E. Cheese, and people who made fun of his previous games for being too creepy.
I only say I feel like I could be a father to my smaller off-branch fandoms and parody games is because they are games born of the fanbase themselves. Spin-offs and the like are very, very inspired by their main source, more so than, say, I was inspired by games like Night Trap.
But that’s just my theory. There are so many out there, each believed to be true by one person or another.
