Fandom Flashback Week 2: Electric Boogaloo
hey remember when i reblogged all those pyromania posts i had in the depths of my likes in an attempt to rekindle, if you will, the joy felt by the tf2 fandom in june 2012?
well now i'm doing that again! i'm queuein up posts from the mann vs machine update and the hype surrounding it
i'll be tagging these posts with #tf2 and #fandom flashback week (and keeping the original tags) for easy retrieval/blocking!
Ok, queue's empty
This marks the end of Fandom Flashback Week: Pyromania!
I hate internet drama. I hate logging in to see fandom wars, people complaining about fandom wars, people hating on themselves, people hating on other people... Tumblr was supposed to be my escape from drama, damn it, so why can't we all just set aside our differences and be happy and bond over things we like while we're here?
..Sometimes, during a good update, we do. At least for a little while. That's why updates, new episodes, and stuff like that are so important to fandoms; everyone is hyped at the same time, and it becomes obvious that, even if we disagree on little things like ships and headcanons and what may or may not be minorly offensive to someone somewhere, we're all here because we have something in common: a love for a certain game. Or TV show. Or movie, or book series, or... whatever the fandom likes, I don't know.
But we forget this as quickly as we remember it. So that's what Fandom Flashback Week hopes to be. A reminder.
There are more old fandom hype posts in my Likes that are aging like fine wine, and when the nostalgia content is high enough, I'll do another one of these!
Now to catch up on all the things I missed while I was inactive last weekend. Mmrr...
Last Fandom Flashback Week announcement, I promise
The queue will post 21 times a day for seven days. It begins with speculation surrounding the subtle changes to the TF2 website and ends with rainbows and candy and balloonicorns. You won't want to miss any of it! Track #fandom flashback week if you don't follow me or if you don't keep up with your dash 24/7.
Edit: Actually wait. Tracking tags doesn't work for reblogs and that's basically all this is.
Just, uh, keep this bookmarked: http://astromot.tumblr.com/tagged/fandom-flashback-week
Fandom Flashback Week: Pyromania
TLDR: I've queued up a bunch of posts from the Pyromania update and the hype surrounding it, so prepare for a blast from the past.
That, or you can block #tf2 and/or #fandom flashback week .
Looking back: Pyromania
