You know how fandoms often end up creating subcultures and fanon and traditions within themselves?

I love how the Chenford fandom basically created a hazing ritual that we keep perpetuating on newcomers.

We convince our friends to watch The Rookie, mostly because of Chenford, and then purposely never warn them about the Nucy jump scare in the pilot.

There are exceptions to the rule (cough cough Malcolm Bright and Harry Bosch, I’m looking at you), but by and large I’m the person being shown a beautiful perfectly-trained purebred dog who will never leave my side at the pet shelter but all I have eyes for is the fucking weirdo in the corner with bug eyes and a gimp leg who the shelter is like “leave him alone, he has rabies” and I’m all LET ME HUG YOU, YOU PRECIOUS BABY
