Maybe it wasn’t the best timing to try and talk sense into Santana, but it was in her and Brittany’s own best interest, not out of spite. (Perhaps his own heartbreak had a little bit of influence too, but on the whole, Kurt Hummel has never been out to get people just because their happiness threatens his own.) And it certainly didn’t warrant Santana’s attack getting personal, going as far as rubbing salt into Kurt’s wounds and suggesting that he was never good enough for Blaine, and even insulting Kurt’s appearance. (Which, to be fair, is more of a faux pas on the part of the Glee writers. These jabs at characters’ looks are simultaneously subtle jabs at the actors themselves, and it really isn’t cute for showrunners to pick on their own cast.) In fact, it’s a little sad that Santana’s rant about Kurt’s flaws was longer than her proposal speech and — dare we say — more passionate, too. Perhaps she needs to focus a little more on her relationship with Brittany and less on kicking others who are already down.

Not Every Person Anon: No need to apologize. :) That kind of conduct is disrespectful. We wonder if these people realize that social media has reach beyond their laptops, phones, and iDevices.

Certain Fandom Anon: We get that people are quick to label an entire fandom as cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs or cray cray due to the actions of a select few, but we don't approve this. It's disheartening that people are so quick to jump to conclusions, but sadly not everyone is willing to look beneath the surface.

You said: "I don't care who ships what, but be respectful to others."

Let's try to spread this message through all fandoms.

Certain Actor Anon: We get what you're saying and we're sorry you're upset by this. Not all shippers do ship respectfully, but this doesn't mean we have to label all shippers of a particular ship as disrespectful. Bashing any person isn't right. No one deserves that. 

We say "Peace, Love, and OTPs" because we mean it. We want peace and love within your fandoms. 

Be good to each other guys. You never know--you might be tempted to rag on someone because you don't like their ship, but you could have TONS in common otherwise. 

In fact---SOCIAL EXPERIMENT: If you're reading this, if you've ever disliked a certain person from a particular fandom because of something they ship, we encourage you to reach out to them and say hi. Take a chance. Make a friend. You don't have to be enemies.

We figured this would come into our ask sooner or later and we'll address this too: 

This person (we aren't naming names because that's not what we're about) in our eyes committed a huge fandom faux pas. We witnessed an encounter on Tumblr where a person made comments regarding content a certain individual posted to their self-hosted website. The owner of this self-hosted website came back and instead of peacefully addressing a situation or attempting to diffuse it chose to attack a person for their ship of choice rather than providing the Tumblr user with an educated response. 

To us, it seemed rather juvenile for someone who works as an industry professional and we did not condone that. We don't approve of anyone treating the fans unfairly and rather of killing the situation with kindness or answering questions, the person in question deflected thus causing a bigger ordeal. 

It's all senseless. People are going to have opinions. Everyone has one. People will speculate. Welcome to the Internet. If you want to run an entertainment/spoiler website, you'll have everything from regular comment contributors to the occasional troll. It comes with the territory. What we didn't understand (and still don't) is why this person chose to verbally bash another person instead of standing up for the integrity of her own material. 

In our book, that isn't cool and that's why we made mention of things via Twitter. 

As for the name calling, we haven't seen nor heard of any of it except that coming directly from the source to outside parties. 

In closing, we agree with you, Anon. Fans should treat other fans with respect. Writers should respect their fanbases. Networks should respect their viewers. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world and some people choose to hate rather than to love. We only hope that as we chug along doing what we do that we can have a small impact on each fandom and create more peaceful environments for all.

To our latest Anon (you'll know who you are), we can't stop people from liking posts. It's Tumblr. We can't set a Monty Python Black Knight mandate ala "None shall pass!" We appreciate your ask, but we also want you to realize something: 

By coming into our askbox and essentially saying, "There she is! There's one! Right there!" aka "Burn the witch!" or "Shun the non-believer!" you're asking us to pass judgment on someone for actions we haven't personally seen. We aren't saying your word isn't to be trusted, we're merely trying to express we can't take one person's thoughts/opinions as the gospel. 

Also, we want to point something out:

You said: "She's a grown adult who should know better..."

However old she is, we can't control how this person acts.

You said: "Shipping is awesome, blatantly ignoring what the actors have said about themselves to satisfy a fetish is another..."

If a person wants to ship something (canon, non-canon, otp, brotp, friendship, even RPF, whatever), so long as the people are respectful with their thoughts and ideas, we have no qualms about whatever that ship happens to be. We're not here to chastise fans for shipping their favorite characters/people. If we see hate or bullying and can shut things down immediately, we will, but we aren't here to tell people how to live their lives. 

Albeit, whatever this ship happens to be seems to bother you. Is this the case? If we're correct, we'd guess this has to do with RPF shipping. 

To humor you (and others we're sure), we'll address this 1 time.

Our stance on RPF shipping: We don't care which celebrity/nobody is dating another celebrity/nobody. At the end of the day, their personal lives (whether they choose to keep them private or otherwise) is none of our business. Life is too short to sit here and bicker back and forth about who loves whom and who doesn't or who is dating whom or who isn't. All we know is we aren't dating any of those people so the way these famous actors/actresses/nobodies conduct their daily lives in the public eye or behind closed doors doesn't involve us. 

**If we aren't being romanced by these people and having candlelit dinners, we have no right to speculate on any of it.**

  Just our two cents on the matter.
