Armed with our primary weapon and skills, it is time to venture forth to Level 1 and face the challenges within.
First levels are all about easing you into the challenge, testing your strengths and measuring whether you have the mechanics of the challenge thus far. So, this week’s challenge will be all about measuring your strengths and how well you have a handle on your “game mechanics”
Since the Eagle is associated with strength, what do you believe are your strengths and how can you utilize them as you move further?
Here in Level 1, we acquire 2 new weapons for our arsenal. Each of these weapons are tools to help you further solidify your thinking about your base characteristics and strengths and create a foundation helping you move further towards the boss.
Bow: The bow we obtain is without arrows so it is, at this time, incomplete. What area of your base knowledge might be incomplete? How can you make this weapon complete for your arsenal?
Boomerang: The boomerang is all about bringing items back to you as well as keeping enemies at bay. Keeping it’s usage in mind: How can you use the boomerang to bring strength back to you? How can you protect yourself and keep doubts about your experiences at bay?
Boomerang and Bow in hand it is now time to face our first boss
Aquamentus is the first boss we face and this dragon is easing us into the challenge by guarding the treasure we seek. But we can do this! Aquamentus moves in a very easy and non-threatening pattern. He never moves forward enough to trap us against the wall before retreating to the door, occasionally spitting fireballs that are easily avoidable. Looking at this and the correspondences of a dragon, we can see that Aquamentus is testing our wisdom and our ability to start recognizing that we have the knowledge we need to move forward.
What are we battling? What is holding us back from moving forward and obtaining our first triforce?
Take all the time you need to come to terms with what might be holding you back. How can you use this wisdom to defeat other obstacles blocking your path? Once you can answer these questions, take your first piece of triforce and rejoice in your victory hero!!!
