Top 3 HP students that aren't part of the Golden Trio, Top 3 HP teachers, and #1 HP ship
Top 3 HP students:
1. Luna Lovegood. She’s the most open-minded student in the series, contrasting with Hermione’s sometimes too stubborn and closed-minded attitude. There is no such thing as useless knowledge to Luna, or people you shouldn’t learn from. There are no concepts too silly, too useless, too absurd, to Luna. Amazing, she is.
2. Fred and George (OK, that’s two, but I’ll count them as one). Do you know how hard it must be to invent your own potions, products from scratch? It’s pretty hard-core magical chemistry, trying out different things, different recipes.. and never getting discouraged. They could have been great students in school, too, if they’d cared. And it’s amazing how much they cared about their project to make a joke shop, despite their mother not believing in it at first.
3. Neville. He’s always underestimated a little. Potions on its own was a stressful class, and he kept on trying. He had extreme improvement in DADA and his dedication to the DA is amazing. But it’s his love for Herbology that is striking. It’s great to love a class like that - I’m pretty sure he became the Herbology professor later on. He could have been helpful to Harry! He knew about the gillyweed…
Top 3 HP teachers:
1. Professor Flitwick. I feel like his class would be genuinely fun and interesting. And he also seems a clever and interesting character. Charms is cool!
2. Professor McGonagall and Professor Lupin, tied. These people are genuinely good teachers. McGonagall would push me to learn. Lupin is great at teaching.
3. Mad-Eye Moody aka Barty Crouch Jr - yeah, I know. I never thought of it before, but he should make this list. He had a way of looking at the curriculum that is completely fresh. Probably because he wasn’t an actual teacher. He knew what was important. (And yes, he was not a good person, and he kidnapped Harry, and maybe in the long-term he would be not so great, but for the school year and his teaching, he somehow should make this list.)
#1 HP Ship
Romione. It was building since book one. It was planned since book one. The progression, the changing feelings, the interactions until they figured it out, it was all real and realistic. The most real fictional relationship I have ever known. Ron and Hermione complement each other perfectly, they play off each others’ strengths and weaknesses, and they went through so much together that it just makes sense. Romionemakes sense. It is real. And it is canon.
