Is your self-insert just a normal person, or are they a hero/have a symbiote of their own? For a standard name, just using the first letter of your name, and picking a name that you like from a baby name list has always helped. You can even further narrow it down by using ethnicity/name origin on some sites.

I'd go with a name to fit the personality. Or if there's a name you really like, use that!

I usually choose names for my self inserts by possible nicknames they would have, and work backwards. i.e. I have one OC that is small and annoying so she would be called Nat, and then her real name could be Natalie
For now she’s a regular person, no super powers or symbiotes (key words: for now, because I’m definitely considering playing with those possibilities, mostly because of how much fun any of those could be)
I made a list that sort of fits her personality/aesthetic but the nickname tip is actually pretty interesting. Whenever I looked up names I always thought ‘what nicknames could this one inspire?’ so whatever name I find that has the best nicknames it’s probably going to be the winner ( I’m even considering just giving her a nickname alone tbh)
