What did you think you would grow out of but haven’t?
“Uh... lightsaber battles with my dad?”

What are 5 opinions you have of Fane?
1. “He’s an amazing father, whether or not he’s willing to admit that to himself these days. Which I suppose is largely my fault, really. In his point of view, my ditching home was a result of his failure as a parent, but that’s absolutely not the case, and no matter how many times I try to tell him that, he can’t seem to get it into his head that I left entirely of my own volition.”
2. “Four hundred years old and yet he’s obsessed with popular modern culture like Star Wars. He had non-deadly but accurately functional lightsabers made for us, for gods sake. No matter how old he gets, he’s always going to have the inner passion of a twelve-year-old child.”
3. “I am genuinely concerned for his mental and emotional health, perhaps even his physical health. Vampires may not be able to catch disease, but that doesn’t mean he can’t develop serious depression or anxiety issues, and while I can’t say precisely where he’s at right now, it doesn’t take a genius to see that it’s not great. Part of me worries that Faye and Eowyn are two of very few reasons why he’s still holding up, and I can’t stress enough how thankful I am for the light they’ve brought back into his life. Light that I’m no longer sure how to supply myself, because every time I’ve tried to connect with him, something has to come up and turn it into a heavy drama fest.”
4. “I think it’s good that he’s taking in people like Maya again. There’s a certain confidence to be gained from helping others. It makes you feel responsible and gives you purpose. Can it be stressful? Sure, but it can also be incredibly rewarding -- like teaching on a more intimate level. And I’m also just glad to see the estate serving a greater purpose. Oddly, it feels more like home to have strangers in the house. I was accustomed to growing up around strays, and it’s a nice reminder of simpler times, despite the fact that I’m not longer staying on the property.”
5. “He needs to stop pretending like his negative emotions don’t exist. That denial is only going to get worse if he doesn’t just stop and let those feelings go for once. He shouldn’t be so afraid that displaying his emotions is going to drive me or anyone else off. It’s natural to be angry and I can understand why he is, even though he claims he’s fine. I’m not gonna lie-- at this point I’d rather he just go off on me and get it over with. At least then he might be able to relax a little knowing he’s said his peace.”

If you had a dangerous secret, who is the one person you'd share it with?
“If it was a really dangerous secret-- like some Dark Arts, Voldemort rising type of dangerous --the only person I would dare go to is Stefan. He’s the only one who understands what’s going on in our family, and when I’m struggling with my own, it’s not like I can go to my brothers. If I’m genuinely worried that something bad is going to happen, I trust him to respect that information. Whether or not he does anything about it though is his concern, not mine.”

– - To celebrate the secret marriage of Dani Savin and Sam Floros, the Savin Estate is opening its doors and grounds for yet another soiree. Kicking off at 7:00 pm, this particular party may not be as brilliant as some others, given it was thrown together in a rush, but it’s no less charming with fairy lights glowing throughout the greenery, and candles and lanterns dotting the tables. There is no organized formality to this reception. The outdoor kitchen will be providing food and barbecue. The ballroom will also be open to serve drinks from the bar and host the evening’s music and dancing – as well as the few little events the newlyweds have come up with. Dress is casual to semi-formal; attendees’ choice. Any who wish to attend are welcome. Gifts are not obligatory, but will not be refused if presented.
The reception will be hosted out of the town chatzy (password: cupofcoffee). Characters are welcome to write individual threads set at the event so long as the event itself isn’t majorly affected by the content. The chatzy will run from Thursday the 24th of August @ 4:00 pm EST to Saturday the 26th of August so that hopefully everyone will have a chance to pop in and have some fun.
Here is a list of the potential goings-on during the course of the party: – - first wedding dance & other family and miscellaneous dancing (classical tunes as well as some of the spouses’ favorites) – - bouquet challenge and toss: Sam wants to preserve Dani’s wedding bouquet, so they’ll be racing each other to create new bouquets from the centerpieces and will both be giving the crowd a chance to catch one – - cake cutting with a sword in place of a knife (nERDS) – - signing of the official marriage license – - potential: speeches & toasts from friends and family, musical performances from the groom and/or his partner, live spousal sword fight (for fun)
