michio is a nurse in the liver transplant department at the general hospital! he scrubs into operations in his cute pink scrubs and he’ll hold your hand at the start and at the end of ur anesthesia!

he was later diagnosed with leukemia; his surgeon friend ( ryuusei kida ) who has ties to the cirque macabre asked alexander coenwulf to heal michio. coenwulf is p much the og eldritch horror to the point where he’s like the supernatural jesus tbh so he gave human!michio some of his own blood and it cured michio but turned him into a weird vampire thing

i say weird vampire thing because he is not afraid of sunlight or garlic or silver. but his metabolism and body functions are super slowed down, almost like suspended animation, so it seems like he’s got no heartbeat and he’s a bit on the cold side. he feels cold too, he dresses warm when he can!

he can drink blood! it warms him up and makes him feel more human again, but he doesn’t need to. warm, fresh blood keeps him up and running for a couple of weeks! after that, he’s back to cold, somewhat depressed corpse-y michio.

to pay off this ‘life debt’ to coenwulf, michio is working for the cirque macabre in the organ harvesting wing, since that’s his specialty. sometimes if they get a live donor, he’ll try to save up the blood loss and take it for himself. or if they gotta kill the donor, he’ll drain them. Otherwise, he doesn’t want to or like to hunt, he’s a scared baby, he just wanted to live and help people.

but he doesn’t mind working at the cirque macabre! everyone there might be questionable criminals but they’re all nice and friendly with each other, especially when there’s like this kinship of everyone being supernatural so they’re all awfully protective of michio and michio likes them too! so he doesn’t feel that guilty about being part of an organ trade business, especially when it’s established that there will be people who want him dead and it’s the cirque who will keep him safe.
