Antis be like: "That character is indistinguishable from a real kid! You are basically sexualizing a minor!"
The character:
Antis: "Tumblr has a grooming problem!" 😱
Manscaped: "Say no more."
Are you fucking comparing trans oppression to what ever the fuck proshippers got going on?? What the fuck, shut the fuck up
I’m not comparing the oppression between the two. I am comparing the rhetoric and similarities between terfs and fanpol not the similarities between proshippers and trans people. The original ask was comparing proshippers to terfs so if you really have beef with those kinds of comparisons it would be with the original anon not me. @pro-ship-kokichi since this is related to your original ask.
Me googling a character I don't know because everyone is calling them controversial:
The Character: Is controversial because they are the bad guy
How do I fall for this every time? Are villians not allowed to do bad things? I feel like some people have Shonen Jump Syndrome or something.
I think I saw this on a fan cop's page a few days ago but I woke up and thought about this post and got upset. The post was basically like "It's deeply troubling if you only consume kid's media and never engage with more adult targeted fiction." For one thing I have a brother who's 16 and reads on a 2nd grade to 3rd grade level, I love him to death mind you, but I'm not going to be like ":/ You should be consuming books with more complex themes" the second he turns 18 or any point in his life. He is a perfect example for my other post because in all honesty he may never understand most media past the surface level and like I said, that's okay. Stories are about what they mean to the reader, the hidden subtext or plot are only important if you uncover them. And I also want to say it's okay just to enjoy media that isn't that deep, life is hard and it can't be a constant pursuit of knowledge for all of us. The average adult has about 6 hours of free time a work day, if you aren't doing something you enjoy during that time I can't imagine how stressed you must be.
Isn't kind of effed that you can reblog a person's art, think "I would like to see more like this" and then every other post is death threats to people in fandom? It happens so often and then I have to do the deletion of shame on my sideblog.
If you don't want me to follow you or reblog from you, please just send me an ask. I won't even make it public I'll just delete the ask and fix the problem. It's as easy as that, I promise I won't be mad and it makes me feel much less awkward.
