FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Vegetable Harvest Themed Reception
Requested By: Rahma U
Rahma’s Vegetable Inspired Harvest Themed Reception was last week’s FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest winner. I like this theme because they didn't want any flowers to be used just vegetables, which makes it very interesting. Vegetables can be used as decor so many ways. For the seating chart you can either use seed packets or take a vegetable and pin the name and table number to it. I also love the idea of mini baskets with your favorite veggies inside as placement cards that can double as favors for your guests to take home. For the centerpiece you can have circular tree limbs as a base (you can purchase from Michael's or make yourself) and pile a variety of vegetables on top or use a bunch of vegetables as a table runner like pictured but on a greater scale.
Thank you Rahma for your submission! The board will be posted on the sidebar tonight until it is replaced next week by this week’s inspiration board winner. Voting for this week’s winner has started and ends Monday!! Click here to vote.
FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Vintage Map & Travel Themed Reception

Requested By: Caroline B
Caroline’s Map Themed Reception was last week's FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest winner. For a traveled theme wedding/reception there are always so many ideas and options for incorporating maps and travel details. I definitely suggest lots and lots of vintage suitcases; they can be used for almost everything, placing the cake in (on a cake stand of course) as pictured above as well as a few of the table centerpieces. Really huge full maps can be used for a lot of things as well, you can use it as a photo booth backdrop, table runners, the seating chart, or even a backdrop for the desert table like this couple chose to do. Instead of an actual guest book you can have postcards for guests to write messages on and when they're done you can place them in one of those vintage suitcases or you can place them in a vintage letterbox, like this one. Caroline wanted lace incorporated as well and even though I was unable to find any images with lace and maps its always possible. I like the idea of using lace to tie the programs, menus and favor boxes, like the ones pictured above. Of course you'll need something to stuff those favor boxes with and these miniature travel trolley favors or suitcase favors are just too cute not to use. To top it off you can purchase or make plane shaped map confetti for table decor and to toss at the bride & groom during their reception sendoff!
Thanks Caroline for your submission! The board will be posted on the sidebar tonight until it is replaced next week by this week’s inspiration board winner. Voting for this week’s winner has started and ends on Sunday!! Click here to vote.
FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Autumn Inspired Forest Wedding
Requested By: Marija D.
Marija’s Auntumn Inspired Forest Wedding was the winner of last weeks FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest. To create that magical feel of a forest wedding I think adding small details to the decor like the frog prince would be really cute. You can have some at the program table and even at the start of the aisle. I also love the idea of giving out small containers of "love potion" to your guests but instead of filling it with liquid, you can fill it with whatever it is you want thrown as you and your spouse walk down the aisle at the end of the ceremony. To continue that theme for the reception you can then hand them out with liquid as a favor. In order to incorporate lanterns into the wedding a nice idea would be to have the bridesmaids carry them instead (or with) a bouquet, have some hanging in the trees and also have them placed on logs scattered around the altar area.

FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Modern Victorian Themed Reception

Requested By: Stephanie E.
Stephanie’s Modern Victorian Themed Reception was the FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest winner from two weeks ago (last week’s posting was postponed because of my busy school schedule). This board’s theme is a mixture of skeleton keys, lace and Victorian details. The framed skeleton keys pictured above is a DIY project that could definitely be used for decorations, or to be placed on the guests table as centerpieces. I couldn't find any great pearl details that Stephanie was looking for but I think that maybe having a pearl & lace backdrop either placed behind the cake table or behind the "mr" & "mrs" seating area would be really nice. I'm in love with the idea of hanging victorian parasols, whether its indoor or outdoor. You can also have them for guests during the ceremony or give them out as favors. Here's a lace parasol that I highly suggest you use for yourself, its beautiful!
Thanks Stephanie for your submission! The board will be posted on the sidebar tonight until it is replaced next week by this week’s inspiration board winner. Voting for this week’s winner has started and ends on Sunday!! Click here to vote.
FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Speakeasy Inspired Reception
Requested By: Kira A.
This 40's Speakeasy Inspired Reception was the winner of last week's FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest. The board’s theme was created based on the era of jazz and speakeasies. I couldn't find a good picture of it but a great idea for this theme would be to rent a vintage tub, fill it with ice and use it as a chiller for the beverages (depending on if your going to have a bar or not, but then again you can still do it for decoration). As pictured above, the Gin guideline books would be great for favors or just to have in the middle of each guest table. Guest tables should be small, only seating two to three people as they did in a speakeasy. If you don't already have your invitations created I suggest having them printed with a secret password on them so that you can make your reception mimic an actual establishment. Guests would have to say the password before entering the reception; similar to what is seen in the movies instead there was a door with a peep hole (you can even recreate the door as well if possible). Every image above has been color edited to be black and white because Kira's suggested color scheme wasn't as important to her as capturing the concept of the theme itself.
Thanks Kira for your submission! The board will be posted on the sidebar tomorrow tonight until it is replaced next week by this week’s inspiration board winner. Voting for this week’s winner starts NOW and ends on Sunday!! Click here to vote.
FYWI’s Fanspiration Friday Winner: Vintage Whimsical Inspired Reception

Requested By: Cassidi B.
Cassidi's Vintage Whimsical Inspired Reception was the winner of last weeks FYWI Fanspiration Friday contest. I love the idea of vintage furniture at weddings and the vintage couch in the inspiration board matched the color scheme perfectly. Colorful streamers, like the ones attached to the bride & groom chairs, is a way to portray the whimsical side of the theme. I also included a stream-like rug that matched the color scheme and I like it because I can picture combining 4 together and using them for an indoor photo booth backdrop or as decor for the candy bar table that Cassidi plans to have. It'll make a great DIY project!
