Old fantasy bkdk art I decided to finish <3

okay but imagine dragon king!Katsuki who's grown used to traveller!Izuku's company. imagine they've spent months bickering back and forth searching for the sword that grants magic true to the soul, chasing a myth spoken by all might himself. imagine they meet trouble on their journey and katsuki is (low and behold) injured on the shoulder and through his abdomen. imagine izuku patches him up, trembling fingers but quick to work like many times before given his knowledge of herbal treatments through his travels. imagine katsuki scowls at receiving help, but can't help but watch izukus lashes flicker back and forth at the injuries with utmost care. imagine katsukis tight muscles loosen under izukus tender attention and all words of izukus reprimands of "be more careful!" "that was dangerous, kacchan" go in from one ear and out the other.

imagine they grow to trust the other to watch their backs. imagine katsuki laugh when izuku bites a fruit and scowl at how bitter it is when he expected the sweet taste of orange. imagine izuku sleepingly drag katsukis cloak atop himself and apologise for it next morning, oblivious how katsuki didn't make one hostile comment about it. imagine the deep-seated hollowness they feel when they realise just how close they are to finish the mission and they will no longer have this time together. imagine katsuki paralyse in fear when izuku gets shot in the thigh with an arrow in a tussle with bandits. imagine katsuki fumble and shake when the wound gets infected and izuku becomes delirious with the fever.
