‘I want to sleep with you But only in the literal sense’
car seat head rest – It’s only sex
asexual pro hero katsuki bakugo
summary: A bit of Katsuki's back story with being a romantic asexual and dealing with his feelings about it.
cw: +18, nsfw, character dealing with negative thoughts about asexuality and sexuality in general. A bit of Katsuki Bakugo x Izuku Midoriya. A bit of Katsuki Bakugo x gender neutral reader. Probably out of character.

‘It’s not such a big deal’ Katsuki thought. He wasn’t homophobic, wasn’t repressing his feelings for Izuku, why the hell then he didn’t like how sex felt?

When he was a teenager, he felt everything was easy. The world resting and moulding to the palm of his hand. Nobody expected more than sloppy kisses, grinding or groping, but that was about it. So he didn’t mind when someone he liked wanted to grind against his knee. But as soon as he grew up, expectations shifted, everyone wanted more.
He liked being liked, that others thought about him as a hot dude. But after thinking for years about it, what if what he liked was being seen?
Saying a couple of compliments, smirking and all that made him feel a fire lighting up within. Made him feel good when someone squirmed under him when he caged them against a wall, something he stole from reading too many shoujo mangas. Having someone feeling flustered made him feel fucking powerful, he was the one who caused that. That was cool, or whatever.
Kissing was okay, it was romantic, not sexual for him. He could spend hours until his lips got sore. Back at second year, he dated a girl from the support group for a few weeks. She was thrilled that Katsuki wasn’t one of those guys, who just wanted to kiss her roughly and sneak their filthy hands under her shirt. The problem came when after graduation, she wanted more.
He agreed on trying out, the least you can do is come with a conclusion for yourself by acting on situations. He didn’t feel disgusted, that wasn’t the word. He felt… nothing in particular. Moreover, if anything he felt uncomfortable. While touching her, he didn’t rush, but she noticed his mind was elsewhere. So after a couple of days she broke it off.
One afternoon, after patrol, they went out for drinks with Eijiro. And after loosening up, Katsuki told his best friend what lead to the break up.
“Man, that sucks. Have you considered if you’re just not into girls that much? Maybe that’s why you didn’t feel anything” valid point, valid reasoning, Katsuki thought. “What if you tried with a guy?”
He felt something romantically for girls, he liked holding their hands, cuddling, going on dates, even if by that time he wouldn’t openly admit he enjoyed it. And for guys, he did have a crush on Izuku before dating his ex girlfriend.
Flashing memories of little Izuku being bullied relentlessly by him came to his mind, reminding him of the guilt he still carried. But by then, Katsuki wasn’t that angry kid that despised him, he had changed, hell he even apologized. And after all, Izuku had forgiven him. Could he try reaching out now?
Katsuki’s hand were clammy, stucked in his pockets, his heart racing in anticipation. Even if he wasn’t that same kid who bullied Izuku despite liking him, his body held the memories of his first love.
If there was one thing you have to know about Katsuki Bakugo, is that he has standards. He would treat anyone he dated with utmost respect and did anything he was capable of to make them have a good time. He took Izuku out on a proper date, booked a booth in a restaurant, heard him talk about his students and all the stupid shenanigans those kids got involved in.
“We were worse” Katsuki pointed out, took a sip of his wine. Izuku laughed because it was true.
The date came to an end, Katsuki was ready to say goodbye and call it a night. But Izuku took his hand, stopping him from leaving. They kissed and before he knew it, he was at Izuku’s bed.
Katsuki felt out of his element, he wasn’t feeling so sure of himself now. Naked, laying on bed with Izuku, who looked at him with puppy eyes, expecting him to make a move. To do more. He had the same expectations other partners had, for him to be bold and take the lead. But he wasn’t feeling bold now, he wasn’t just flirting or kissing. He was supposed to do something, touch him somewhere, whatever it was he knew, but couldn’t perform. ‘It’s not such a big deal’ Katsuki thought. He wasn’t homophobic, wasn’t repressing his feelings for Izuku, why the hell then he didn’t like how sex felt?
At first, Izuku thought the problem was that they were both more into bottoming, what a shame. But that didn’t stop him from offering to try to top Katsuki, but that didn’t improve the situation at all. Both of them felt how awkward and tense they were. Katsuki apologized, said he was too stressed but assured Izuku he was into him. He felt conflicted, he had feelings for Izuku, but having feelings and acting on a desire that’s not there, felt soul crushing.
After another failed attempt, he took two days off work to clear his mind. Most sexual acts felt performative, like moaning and whimpering. And watching porn? Annoying, too loud, too fake, too violent. Absolutely off the table for him.
Craving intimacy without sex, longing for romance without the pressure to perform an act that made him feel hollow, uncomfortable, that felt like a utopia. He was a pro at after care, he aced that. Making sure they were hydrated after the act, cuddled, snacks, back rubs, massages, what he really wanted to do. Katsuki was convinced people stuck longer than they should with him because of that. He liked seeing his partners enjoy genuine pleasure, but engaging in it wasn’t for him.
A couple of times, he searched online and felt a little relieved that other people shared similar experiences. Good, he wasn’t the only freak in the world. Some comments suggested dating other romantic asexual people, but finding another pro hero who was romantic and asexual? He highly doubted that, and then he met you.
You fell for him first, he fell harder.
That time of his life felt like free falling from a skyscraper without a quirk to cover his ass. He felt desperate at being so fucking in love with you. Adoring you so much it made his heart clench. He tried hard to avoid it, to avoid you, he was convinced he would disappoint you. He cared too much about you to confront that possibility.
But fear didn’t keep him from loving you. And then came the talk.
“I’m not ashamed about it, but I have a high libido, just letting you know” you said after patrol was over and you two had been talking about ‘things you should know about me before officially dating’. His throat tightened, you noticed how silent he got after that. You thought you fucked up, perhaps it was a bold comment to make at the time.
Fuck, there were some people he had dated that didn’t mind that much not having sex as often or that he was mediocre at best. But you had to be super into it.
The first time you ended up in his bed, wasn’t that bad. You were pretty content with him kissing you and humping him, you weren’t mad when his cock got soft after a minute of riding him. You had already cum, he said he was okay with not cumming. You found that odd.
He had been told in the past his cock was ‘pretty’, what does even make it pretty? He wanted so bad to feel anything, to like how much you enjoyed his cock, how much effort you put into satisfying him.
You noticed how he zoned out, so you proposed new ideas: using ice, trying out shibari, blindfolding him, using sexy lingerie. You even tried the fucking grapefruit trick as your last resort. But nope, none of that worked on him. Same emotionless reaction, same silence. It kind of broke your heart a little, you doubted yourself, maybe yuou were really bad at sex.
And then the thought it you, what if he had some sexual related trauma? You had been to focused on blaming yourself for his lack of enthusiasm, when maybe the reason behind it all was an internal struggle. You thought of addressing it in a gentle way. Trauma shapes how we engage with ourselves and others. You made a mental note to talk about this with him, but then you had sex with him for the last time. You finally had your answer. Katsuki Bakugo, pro hero Dynamight, your boyfriend was asexual.
Before you two found out the perfect ritual that respected both of your boundaries, you had difficult but necessary conversations.
“The hell you want me to pull your hair for?”
“It just feels good. You said you’d like to try things that don’t involve sex but are part of something intimate”
“I know, but hurting you like that doesn’t sound like my idea of having an intimate moment with you.”
“Alright, no hair pulling” you scratched that off the list with your pen. “Any other ideas?” Katsuki had his arms crossed over his chest, leaning against the counter. An appropiate kitchen conversation between lovers, brainstorming alternative ideas for sex.
It took some time for you two to find the perfect sweet spot, he loved you deeply, but he also respected his wishes to not engage in sex in a conventional way. That was part of the journey of accepting himself.
