This MALFUNCTION ( ashe had taken to calling it, for the RK800 could hardly think what else it could be ) was spreading likewildfire, cases cropping up all across the city with a far greater frequencythan on the first day of deployment. He was wholly unsurprised to find himself again in this fucked up Eden, onlydistantly aware of the hushed whisper-yelling between his exhausted partner andthe establishment’s seedy owner, perfectly content to stand a constant guarduntil a distraction sidled up to him, took his hand, grasped hisimmediate attention. Connor regarded her with a smile, and though through hisconfusion he appeared to show no interest, he did not pull away his hand. Infact, he barely even acknowledged hers, for lack of a reference on how one wasexpected to respond.

And even if he wasn’t, Connor highly doubted herinterest in him was to be a continual flicker ; a shame, really. She waspretty. His gaze momentarily wandered, flickering across the glimmeringholograms, the bright colours, the places where just recently stood patrons.

It didn’t sit rightwith him, this place, but the emotions surrounding his uncertainty were tooorganic for him to linger upon.
