The Beard is essentially a barbarian with a PURPOSE: follow and enforce the rules of xir Aspect so as to benefit xirself.
The Cop is, of course, similar, while still being noticeably different: follow and enforce the rules of xir Aspect so as to benefit others, while adopting rules befitting xir allies Aspects and weaving them into how xe interprets xir own.
The Poet will have the unique role of transcribing the events of their session to gift their new universe. This book will prove invaluable to the creators of the world following after.
Blood - Affection, attraction, and relations with others. Heroes of Blood are likely to place more interest in relationships than others. Note that an affinity for the interpersonal does not always make you excellent at them.
Poet of Blood - The Poet of Blood is one whose emotions influence the way others relate to them or each other. While they will be spending some time writing their Book, they are also likely to be around others for large portions of the session, likely because they are their source of inspiration. The Poet of Blood may intially place a lot of stock in one particular type of relationships for their inspiration, but as they develop they will come to the realization that there are multiple types of relationships and each one has its unique merit.
While having a specific title grants you an easier time working towards a specific potential, your actions are not likely to unconditionally follow the path set before you. You will have an advantage working within your area, but there is nothing to prevent you from acting outside that role. Some people actually act contrary to their title if they have been corrupted by an outside influence.
Typical Combat Role -
A Poet of Blood plays a hybrid role, serving more as an aura than having their title literally be used to fight. Their strife specibus, as always, may be used in whatever capacity possible.
Determined:
- The relations of your allies will become difficult to break or bend.
- Alliances will become much stronger, and romance/friendships will gain a deeper bond.
Scared:
- Enemies will have difficulty obeying the orders of their leaders or peers.
Sickened:
- Truces, friendships, romances, and alliances will dissolve.
- People will act purely for their own gain, independantly.
Angry:
- Everybody will turn against the object of your anger.
Excited:
- New, unexpected relations will suddenly develop.
- Crack ships.
Compassionate:
- Allies will feel a sense of brotherhood and be gifted with a metaphorical olive branch when needed.
Content/Calm:
- Given control over the powers of other emotions, but to a lesser degree.
These are only a few examples out of the wide range of emotions a person can have. The actual manifestations of fire and change will depend on the strength of the person’s emotions as well as their general stability.
Typical Session Role - At its core, the Poet of Blood will be working to fill their Book to assist those in the next session should they ever complete their own. When the Poet of Blood reaches an enlightened state or God Tier or both, they will gain a mastery of their emotions to produce truly powerful effects both on and off the battlefield. They will be able to bring people together or tear them apart, and may be difficult to even turn against.
Keep in mind that the Poet’s path does not always end with complete calm. Many poets reach their full potential by harnessing their emotional states at their most intense peaks instead, bringing their storms to their advantage. Each person is different.
To anger a Poet of Blood is to incite much pain from everybody else turning on you. This is not even a conscious order, just a passive influence.
Poet - One who allows their emotions and state of mind to influence the manifestations of their aspect. This varies extremely wildly depending on what their aspect is. Moreso than most classes, the exact manifestations of the Poet’s power will change depending on the hero themselves. Their state of mind, inclinations, personality and morals will greatly affect the flow of their aspect.
The Poet will have the unique role of transcribing the events of their session to gift their new universe. This book will prove invaluable to the creators of the world following after.
Blaze - Catalysts, transformations, fire. Governs the transitioning between forms. Heroes of Blaze often require an external vice to excite or motivate them, but once empowered they are quite formidable. Fire is not merely a tool of consumption and destruction, but also one of change and warmth.
Poet of Blaze - The Poet of Blaze is one whose emotions catalyse various reactions around them. Even when not performing their duty of crafting their Book, they are usually, by nature, following their personal quest and seeking to develop themselves. Poets of Blaze may originally seek external objects to give them peace, to little success. Eventually they will find that their strength lies within themselves, and with this realization they will explode into power. The Poet of Blaze is a well-rounded role, capable of searching for artefacts as well as defending and fighting.
Typical Combat Role -
A Poet of Blaze's presence in fights varies massively depending on who they are and their current emotional state.
Determined:
- Fire from weapons or abilities are nearly impossible to put out or stop the spread of.
- Allies are unable to be deterred from metamorphosis. This is especially powerful with a page.
- Battle will be more difficult to prevent.
Scared:
- Enemy attempts at initiating combat will be more difficult.
Morose:
- Fire will not be present. It will be very difficult for anybody, allied or enemy, to catalyse or transition to anything.
Angry:
- Many things are likely to spontaneously combust.
- Outbursts of action are more likely.
Excited:
- The first attack will be empowered with flame.
Compassionate:
- Allies will be warmed and be gifted with a catalyst for change when needed.
Content/Calm:
- Given control over the powers of other emotions, but to a slightly lesser degree.
These are only a few examples out of the wide range of emotions a person can have. The actual manifestations of fire and change will depend on the strength of the person's emotions as well as their general stability.
Typical Session Role - At its core, the Poet of Blaze will be working to fill their Book to assist those in the next session, should they ever complete it. Once the Poet has reached God Tier or a similarly enlightened state of mind, they will gain greater control over their emotional state and be able to produce consistent results with their catalysing fire abilities. Whether the Poet has begun their journey with no emotion or untamed ones, they will eventually be able to use either type to their advantage.
Keep in mind that the Poet's path does not always end with complete calm. Many poets reach their full potential by harnessing their emotional states at their most intense peaks instead, bringing their storms to their advantage. Each person is different.
Take care with the Poet of Blaze, as their powers manifest without conscious control most of the time and to anger one may lead to an unfortunate combustion of your favourite belongings.
Once I figured out how a Monk of Space would work I may have gotten excited and typed a little more than usual
Even though I did not think of the name 'monk' I'm kind of pleased with how versatile my madeup description ended up being
Monk - The Monk is one who brings balance. They can either bring equilibrium to the aspect itself, or use their aspect to equalize other things. By almost cruel design, most monks begin as volatile beings and seem to contrast their class. However, as the monk grows and develops as a person they will begin to recognize and find balance in their surroundings and within themselves. This is when their power becomes apparent.
The role of a Monk depends on who you are. Will you equalize the aspect itself, or channel your powers to bring balance to whatever you please? Perhaps both? The Monk is very introspective and acts almost exclusively on the player itself, and it is your choice whether or not you want to help others.
The monk class in particular is notorious for their inability to control their aspect until they are already making solid progress in their Personal Quest. The first parts of the session may be very difficult for the monk until they have made sufficient self-progress.
Space - The first 3 dimensions. Governs size, structure and location. Space is very visible to humans and is easier to recognize than more ethereal things such as hope or chaos.
Monk of Space - The Monk of Space has a knack of balancing the arrangement of objects across space. They are drawn to unstable patterns and seek to quell them. They can also bring balance to conflicts by utilizing space powers.
Like all titles, a person’s actions will not always be in accordance with what they have been assigned. While having a certain class gives you an advantage in a certain area, it does not prevent you from acting outside that role.
Typical Combat Style -
A monk is very adept at both combat and noncombat roles. They use their aspect to bolster their existing fighting capabilities, rather than use their aspect as a weapon itself.
- Nearly all actions by or near the Monk of Space will cause something somewhere else to shift in order to keep balance.
- The Monk of Space manipulates space through the use of Mirroring: The ability to move objects to match the formation that mirrors it.
- They can also "animate" piles of rubble, rocks or anything else to mirror their actions.
* By separating balance in size from balance in form, they can mirror larger objects with their own bodies: For example, a Monk of Space may divide a door in half by mimicking the shape of a door with two hands, then separating them.
* By separating balance in size from balance in form, they can shink / grow two objects until they match each other in size.
* Ascending to God Tier will allow the monk to perform the aforementioned actions at larger scales and with greater ease.
Typical Session Role - At its core, the Monk of Space will be bringing balance by using space / balancing space itself. You naturally equalize space flow, even in the Void. Will you use your powers to equalize conflicts between people, allowing for a more successful session for all your allies? Will you absolve from the session altogether in pursuit of your own spiritual journey? Your abilities are mainly based on your own actions and primarily benefit yourself. But should you decide to bring balance to the session with your mastery of Space, you will be a force to be reckoned with.
