If Zhou Zishu wasn’t in his boxers, barefoot and waiting for his clothes to finish washing he’d be leaving. Instead, his patience worn thin by this extremely long night, he snaps his arm out and circles Kexing’s neck with his hand.
“I don’t know. If you want I could show you.” Zishu threatens, tightening his fingers slightly. He’s not sure what he expected, but the breathy inhale of air and slightly parted lips weren’t it.
Or: Two killers meet at an old neon laundromat and fall in love. It's the 2000's, there are flip phones.

What a fun journey! I’ll admit I was skeptical about the setting at first, but the story really sucked me in and had me believing every moment of it.
The combination of assassins + early 2000’s aesthetic was incredibly fun and engaging, and made for an interesting read. I also greatly appreciated the attention to detail in the descriptions. They gave enough detail to keep you in the moment, but not so much that it bogged down the pacing.
All in all, it’s a fun story flavored with angst and excitement, culminating in the nice ending readers are desperately searching for.
