Page 01. --- Vegreville, Alta., Dec. 1 (CP) - A Co-operative Commonwealth Federation convention here yesterday approved a suggestion Western Canadian farmers call a ‘planting strike’ next spring. The suggestion was incorporated in a notion criticizing the 80-cent-a-bushel wheat price ‘peg’ this year and ‘inadequate’ prices offered for coarse grains.

8/17/32 Road Closed Into City By Striking Farmers. Photo shows a group of farmers that stopped all produce trucks from entering Sioux City, Iowa from South Dakota with the aid of spiked planks and wire cables that they stretch across the roads when trucks approach.

Directors of the South Dakota Farmers Holiday Association, meeting in Huron, decided to declare a holiday on the sale of commodities starting Sept. 5 if other agricultural states have holidays simultaneously.
