Kayt had had a long day, a complicated day. But, no matter what happened everything was better once she got to her garage- and if the day had sucked in her garage, everything got better once she walked up the stairs and got into her to see her kid. A phone call to her mom, who talked her through cooking dinner, let her know a few things,
“When you’re stressed out, do something for Farren. Remember she relies on you, and because of that it helps to do something for her. Remember when everything else is crashing around you, she needs you, and you have her. It’s what got me through all the long nights with you gone, Kaytie... Let me help you cook dinner.”
The pain of remembering what she’d been through- what she’d put her mom through, struck her. But she listened. Her mom’s breath was shallower than it used to be, and it seemed like it took he rlonger do speak. She hoped they would find out what was wrong with her soon,
“You’re a great mom, mom.” she muttered, as she plated the food, “I love you, Kaytie. Enjoy your dinner with your daughter.” Kayt smiled fondly, “I love you too, mathair. Tell dad and Nate. Talk to you soon.” She hung up her phone and set it down, putting the food on the table.
“Far’! Dinner’s ready!” She called, “hopefully it’s edible,” she muttered to herself, questioning her cooking abilities, even with her mother’s guidance.
