@ferriar MAY 6, 2344 - 7:00PM. CAMPSITE, ???, FOOL'S PROSPECT
The deeper one goes into Fool's Prospect, the fewer and farther apart the towns became. Seeing as they were still hours from the next town, with the sun setting and the horses getting tired, Jack Odyssey had decided to camp out for the night.
Old Halo had quickly learned that she hated camping.
She hadn't been with the Odyssey Gang long. Her name hadn't quite settled into her skin; she still didn't turn around when people called it. She was still getting to know the outlaws she'd allied herself with, still overcoming the pride that kept her from giving much information in exchange. So when everyone crowded around the campfire, eating dinner and trading stories, Old Halo took a seat a several feet away, separate from the rest of them.
But as new as she was, she wasn't the newest member of the Odyssey Gang. That particular honor went to Farrier. A long-time outlaw, as she'd gathered, but certainly new to this group. She watched out of the corner of her eye as he took a seat on the ground not too far from her. She ate a spoonful of stew, then picked up her spoon and bowl she shifted closer to him. If they were going to be outsiders, they might as well do it together.
"Hi." She offered him a warm, inviting smile that betrayed none of the unease she felt upon looking at a ruthless outlaw that threatened the sanctity of civilization. She nodded to the group huddled around the fire and asked, "Is it just me, or have they told that same story three nights in a row?"
