Masks of Pasch

I'm wearing a mask today: literal and striking. The sequins and colours offend those I see But receive compassion too: unwarranted? It was made to my specifications and liking. It's a product of recognising I'm truly free, Sitting on my head, following me: haunted.

Another mask now, and not yet half past ten! This one is dark and does not feel, It does not budge and has no eyes. I wear it in the wrong crowd time and again, With no ear or eyes, only a mouth of steel. If I wear it much longer it will cause my demise.

It's a coward's game to blame it on the mask: I must own my character this season of Pasch.
