They’re are just manhandling Ricochet.....can I be next (Drew only please)
I was very surprised to see people in the Breezango tag upset that Tyler Breeze took the pin in the Fatal 4-Way on this week’s Smackdown.
I thought that Tyler taking the pin was probably the best way the match could’ve ended to accomplish what the match needed to, and this match wasn’t for Breezango.
It wouldn’t make sense for them to have won because their characters don’t have time to go after the tag titles against The Usos with the Fashion Files and the Ascension plots now going on (especially since the other teams don’t have that much).
The point of this match was to put over the new team of Chad Gable and Benjamin. It also proved how over Breezango are with the crowd, had some Ascension character moments with Breezango and continued the dissension in the Hype Bros.
The match did an excellent job at making Gable and Benjamin look like a powerhouse and Breeze was the best guy to take the pin.
- If it had ended on The Ascension, like matches like this usually do, it would feel like a cop-out and would prevent them from building up the Ascension now that they’re in an actual storyline. - I originally thought I would like it to end on one of The Hype Bros, like if one of them hecked up and caused the other to get the pin, but that wouldn’t have made it look like Gable and Benjamin were dominant and would’ve instead just shifted the focus to The Hype Bros and we still wouldn’t care about Gable and Benjamin (though I’m sure some of you still might be a bit meh on them, it did a lot for me to get invested in them). Plus most people don’t really care about The Hype Bros at the moment as far as in-ring performance (but their story is getting real interesting) - Breezango are crazy over right now. At over a hundred days since their last televised ring appearance, it’s safe to say we were all just excited to see them. Because of how much everyone likes them right now, them taking a loss doesn’t make them look weaker or make us like them any less. I know I was really excited to see Breeze in the ring that much even though he got wrecked by the numbers game.
And as far as Breezango themselves, it made more sense for Breeze to be the one to take the pin (and be in the ring more). Fandangos generally booked as the more physically imposing member of the Fashion Police and Tyler Breeze is really great at (and looks really great at) getting thrown around (doesn’t hurt that he’s the lightest guy in the tag division). At the end of any given match, regardless of the outcome, he always looks like he’s given it his all and looks like he’s gotten wrecked. There’s a good reason he jobbed for most of the beginning of his main roster career and that’s because the way he sells and loses matches makes other guys look fantastic. And in this case, I think it was the right move.
I thought this tag segment went perfectly and this is why I’m not upset about Breezango losing in their first multi-team match back in-ring.
Bet between brothers ... adorable 😊💪🤙💕
