Every once in awhile you find a great tweet. 😂
The El Grande showdown was amazing, but I especially appreciated Chad's daughter's face--(😯😬)--after her gore-soaked father gives her a high-five.
You can watch the whole match--30 minutes plus another 15 in setup and entrances--here:
And Chad's post-match speech here.
(I know! I was as shocked as you to find out it was Chad Gable all along!!)
The only way they can save this godforsaken El Grande Americano bit is if they keep rotating the wrestler. Like to the point it gets outrageous. Like yeah, sure, Ludwig is funny, but let's keep escalating. Give me Karrion Cross one week, Xavier Woods the next. Have Oba Femi come out wearing a mask that they clearly had to rip to get on his head.
Every week, Ivy and the Creeds have to act like they know what the unholy fuck is going on.
One week, there's three different El Grandes and we recreate the Spiderman meme. This keeps going until it stops being funny then loops around to being funny again.
Finally, we have the Big Match, a Mask v Mask match, loser gets demasked in front of everyone. El Grande loses, the mask is removed.
Plot twist: It's Liv Morgan back from injury. This is never mentioned again or explained. No one ever mentions El Grande again. He exists only in our dreams and nightmares.
I love how pro wrestling fans will cheer for the craziest things but we’ll never put up with anyone trying to unmask a luchador. Wanna toss your opponent off a cage? Fine. Spit on your opponent? Nasty, but okay? Pull at the mask? Absolutely not, straight to jail!
