So, despite Yuu's desperate wishes, the person she had a so called 'fate tie' with, was not an NPC. It was the fucking villain. The one she was technically destined to murder so she could go home. Obviously now, she wasn't going to actually go through with that. Yuu was a lot of things, but she couldn't murder an innocent person.
But the worst part is, said villain overheard her thoughts about this world being a novel. So now she had to explain that to him.
And Yuu just knew, she was so cooked. Because Dahlia wasn't gonna let that go. Yay for her.
Okay, maybe I should explain this in person....
Why do I feel like it's gonna be some bs
Because it is
Just great. Where are you right now?
Do you know where the old abandoned dorm is? I think it's called Ramshackle or something
Yeah, I'll be there in a couple minutes

Dahlia couldn't believe that stupid headmaster put Yuuri, or actually he thinks the girl's name is Yuu, in Ramshackle That place is completely run down, he has no idea how she's surviving there.
But he was also curious about the whole novel thing that's been going on in her head. And for someone who didn't know who Malleus Draconia was, why did she seem to recognize his name? Was this another level to the fate tie? Or did this relate to the novel thing? Questions run rampant in his brain. Her explanation better be a damn good one, or I'm gonna wring her neck!
Dahlia entered the mirror that led to Ramshackle and once he laid his eyes on the building he recoiled a little. What kind of diseases does this place harbor?!
He knocked on the door once, and dust flew up from it. He didn't even knock the hard! Nobody answered. Tch, she wanted to meet in person, and then doesn't even answer the door. Maybe he should reach out via fate tie?
Hey idiot, open the door, I'm here.
...
No response.
Is she okay? Wait did she actually get sick or something? Dahlia heard loud noises coming from inside and he could smell fire. Shit! Wasn't there like ghosts in here or something? Is she getting attacked?!
When Dahlia pushed the door open, what he expected to see was Yuu getting harassed by some wayward ghosts.
What he did not expect to see, was Yuu and the arsonist cat from orientation, trying to char ghosts. And was that a pitchfork in Yuu's hands?!

"What in the name of the Great Seven, are you idiots doing?!"
A piercing yell made Yuu pause in her tracts. Oh shit, she forgot Dahlia was coming to meet her.
"Uh, so I can explain," she nervously told him. "Myah? Who's this guy?" Grim pointed at Dahlia. "This is Dahlia, he's my......fate tie?" Yuu thinks that's a good enough explanation. I mean, it's not like they were friends really, the two barely knew each other.
"So basically," Yuu tried to defend herself, "there were ghosts and uh, grim was helping me?" Yuu pointed to the ghosts, who were previously running away, and now looking at the interaction between the students in amusement.
Dahlia felt a headache coming. "And you thought.....throwing fire at the ghosts, in a flammable, completely made of wood, house, was a good idea?"
Yuu threw her hands up, "Grim started doing it okay! I was just directing him so he didn't burn the place down."
"You should've made him stop moron!" It seemed like common sense was no longer common, Dahlia thought as he looked around at the place. "This weak human can't make me the Great Grim do anything!" Grim exclaimed in a proud voice. Yuu really wished she could punch the cat, but that would be animal abuse......well it's not like anyone would know though...
"Listen here," Dahlia turned to the ghosts, "Yuu is going to stay here until she can go home, so stop being so immature and accept your new room mate! And don't provoke Grim! This place is already messed up, you don't need to burn it down!"
"Ah, I see. That seem's......reasonable," The skinny one commented.
"Aww, we were just having fun!" The rounder one smiled.
"Got it little lad!" The shorter one gave Dahlia a thumbs up.
"Why did you listen to him but not me?!" Yuu whined. This was completely unfair. She thought the ghosts didn't like people! Her attention was then caught by the couch.
"Oh my stars! The couch is on fire!"

"What on earth is happening here?" Crowley walked in to see a Diasomnia student yelling at Yuu, the ghosts, and the cat from orientation to clean. He dropped off the bag of food he brought for Yuu on the table.
"There were ghosts, so Grim and I tried making them go away," Yuu started. The Diasomnia student cut in, "And then I found these idiots trying to burn down the dorm. So now I'm making them all clean the place."
Crowley didn't know what to think. A monster, a human, and three ghosts all working together to clean a place they ruined, because a Night Raven College student was making them? That was unthinkable. Crowley couldn't believe someone from his school was level-headed enough to step in and take care of the situation without it benefiting them. Also, where did this student come from?!
"What are you doing here?" He asked the Diasomnia student. The student turned to Yuu and gave him a look. Yuu seemed hesitant, but nodded. Did they just silently talk to each other?
"So basically....."

"Excuse me, the two of you are somehow fate ties?!" Crowley's jaw dropped, "But Yuu here isn't even from this world!"
Yuu sighed, "Yeah the situation's kinda wack."
"Well, if that's the case, then Dahlia, you can keep an eye on Yuu here, to make sure they adjust to this world." Crowley nodded his head, like he'd just came up with the best idea ever.
"Are you just trying to push responsibility onto me?" Dahlia raised an eyebrow. It's not like this was anything he didn't expect from the Headmage.
Crowley awkwardly cleared his throat and coughed a little, ignoring Dahlia's question. Yuu rolled her eyes at that, she wasn't going to like this guy at all.
"Well," Crowley clapped his hands together, "this has been an enlightening conversation. You know, I had my doubts before about you attending this school Yuu, but seeing as how you and this.......Diasomnia student, have a fate tie, I cannot deny you entry. Perhaps he will be able to keep a handle on the two of you." Crowley made a sudden pause when referring to Dahlia.
Yuu narrowed her eyes, "Did you forget Dahlia's name already?"
"Of course not!"
Yuu rolled her eyes and then paused, "Wait a minute! You're letting me be a student here?! I thought you said magicless people weren't allowed?"
"Ahem, that was before I knew you and Dahlia here were fate ties. Those kinds of things are rare you know, and inherently connected through magic. As an arcane institution that deals with all things magic, we have our own rules regarding fate ties. Due to their rarity, we allow a Night Raven College student's fate tie to transfer with them." Crowley explained to the trio.
"Myah?! What about me then?!" Grim interrupts the conversation. Crowley turns to the young chimera, "You'll be escorted off of campus obviously, NRC may accept fate tie transfers, but we certainly do not enroll monsters into the school. Especially ones that weren't called upon by the Dark Mirror. Yuu here was at least brought by the Black Carriage."
"Headmage, if I may add something to that?" Dahlia interjected before Crowley could use his infamous 'Lash of Love' to detain Grim. "I'm pretty sure Yuu and Grim have imprinted on each other, and that means that Grim is now my familiar too. Plus, I'm estimating that Grim is only 12 years old in chimera years, which means he's 6 years old in human years. There are laws dedicated to protecting young chimeras, especially direbeast ones, aren't there?" Dahlia smirked as he tilted his head.
Crowley's eyes darted back and forth between Grim, Yuu, and Dahlia, and seeing that none of them would budge, he gave up his spluttering and threw his hands up.
"I-I see," Crowley coughed, "I must not have seen that earlier. Of course I would never break the laws! Haha, I have such dutiful students. I'll just leave this basket of food here and leave then, you seem to have this all sorted out."
"And you'll be filling out paperwork for Yuu to be a student here, as my fate tie, and for Grim's allowance here as a familiar in our Fauteum?" Dahlia raised an eyebrow. The word 'fauteum' seemed to make Crowley panic a little, but Yuu didn't know why. Honestly, Yuu didn't even know what the word itself meant.
"Immediately! It shall be my first action when I get back!"
"And you'll inform the Housewardens of this at the next Housewarden meeting, which I assume will be held after the first day of classes?"
"Yes, yes! I will do everything, do not worry!"

"That. Was. So. BADASS!" Yuu exclaimed in astonishment, stars in her eyes. Which was ironic considering her last name.
Dahlia felt himself preen a little at the compliment, but made no effort to show it. "What can I say, I'm just better like that."
"You.....you let me attend NRC with the two of you.....and you claimed me as your own," Grim's voice wobbled a little, tears and snot spilling from his face.
Yuu and Dahlia looked at each other and felt their faces soften. Sure, Dahlia had spouted some nonsense about Grim being their familiar, but now Dahlia really felt like accepting Grim. And for some reason, Dahlia had a feeling he wouldn't regret it.
"Hey Dahlia," Yuu called out, "what was the whole 'familiar in our fauteum' thing you mentioned to Crowley about earlier?"
"Oh that makes sense you don't know since you're not from here. Basically, our 'fauteum' is kind of like this thing between fate. How do I explain it....oh! Do you know what a Lion's Pride is, like their pack?" Dahlia looked at Yuu. Yuu thought for a moment and then slowly nodded when the gears began shifting in her head. "Our 'fauteum' is sort of like that, but a sacred thing only between the souls connected by the fate tie. And like, we can bring people we trust and love into our fauteum, like either people we're in a relationship with, people we care about, or children."
Dahlia continued his long explanation, "Since Grim is a child, and you and him have clearly developed some sort of bond, even though it's relatively new, you unknowingly made him a part of our Fauteum. Fate ties themselves are rare, so Fauteums are too. If anyone ever threatens me or Grim, you're gonna feel this primal urge to protect us and might like, lash out at anyone who approaches. Even more with Grim than me because Grim is a child and you know I can protect myself. I'd do the same if someone threatened Grim or you. And basically, you and I will be protective over anyone we bring into our Fauteum, because we're the Fauteum Progenitors since the fate tie was created off of our souls."
Yuu started at Dahlia while taking all of this information in.
"That....was a lot." Yuu was at a loss for words.
Dahlia sighed and nodded, "Yeah, it was. But none of the fae, beastman, or merfolk will mess with you two here. They'll sense the fate tie and back off."
"....does that mean you two are my parents now?" Grim asked. Yuu and Dahlia turned their heads towards him.
"Yes? No, not really since, no offence, but Dahlia isn’t really my type, but also kind of I think. We’re basically gonna take care of you," Yuu told Grim. Dahlia didn’t seem to take any offence to Yuu’s comment either. He’d only known Yuu for like a day, but even if it’d been longer, he doesn’t really think him and Yuu would develop that kind of relationship.
"Hmph, makes sense that the Great Grim has two awesome henchmen!"

"Yuu, you're a girl right?"
"Biologically, yes."
"You know this is an all-boys school right?"
"Yeah."
"......are you gonna keep it a secret?"
"I don't care."
"What pronouns do I use for you then?"
"Whatever you want, I don't care if you see me as a boy or a girl. Gender is a social construct."
"Got it, got it.......so he/him at school or no?"
"Do whatever you feel like."
"The scent of the fate tie should probably hide the scent of your biological gender, but I'll brew a potion just in case."
"Go for it."

"So tell me about the whole novel thing." Dahlia motioned for Yuu to explain.
"Oh that," Yuu sheepishly rubbed her head.
"Basically......"

"Hey I didn't create this place!"

"Woah! Main street is so big!" Grim's eyes sparkled as he looked around. He was especially staring at the statues of the Great Seven.
"Gah! Dahlia, who's that lady? She looks real important," Grim tugged at the bottom of Dahlia's pants.
"That's the Queen of Hearts, a strict ruler who enforced all of the 810 rules on the citizens of Wonderland. She ran the place with a firm hand. One of the dorms, Heartslabyul, is modeled after her, they take the rules there pretty seriously. Their Housewarden is not someone you want to mess with, he hates rule breakers, so avoid him at all costs." Dahlia explained. Grim seemed to like the lady, while Yuu...had a different look on her face. Dahlia raised an eyebrow.
You good?
Yeah, just something reminded me of my world.
"Ugh tell me about it," a voice groaned from behind them. Yuu turned around to see a guy with spiky orange hair, red eyes, and a heart painted on his face. "I have to deal with that little twerp as my Housewarden, he's got a stick up his ass I swear."
"Uh, who's this guy?" Grim pointed out. "It's bad manners to point at people Grim," Dahlia corrected him. Grim pouted and put his paw down. Dahlia smiled and patted his head.
"The name's Ace, Ace Trappola. Nice to meet 'cha." The stranger, now dubbed Ace, smiled mischievously. "I'm a Heartslabyul freshman, and couldn't help but overhear your conversation. You don't know who the Great Seven are?"
Dahlia narrowed his eyes as Ace started telling Grim about the rest of the Great Seven. He could tell something was a miss.
Yuu...
Yeah, I get weird vibes from him too
"...unlike some piddling weasel."
And there it is
Ace burst into laughter, "I mean come on! A magicless guy gets picked up by the Black Carriage, and then told he can't be sorted, and then a monster jumps out and sets the whole place on fire! You two aren't just clowns, you're the whole circus! Now you're telling me you don't know the Great Seven? Maybe take a crack at kindergarten before coming to NRC."
Grim looked both offended and like he was about to cry.
Yuu saw this and clenched her fist, standing in front of Grim, as if to protect him.
"Oi, you got some nerve talking to me like that. Sure we're laughable, but you're the asshole who decides to go out of his way to make fun of us when we weren't even bothering you. Pathetic." Yuu spat with venom laced in his words.
Ace's face contoured into one of shock at Yuu's vicious outburst (which didn't match his face) and a bit of guilt when realizing Yuu was right.
"Grr, nobody makes fun of my henchmen!" Grim spewed a burst of blue fire at Ace. This made Ace's momentary guilt subside as he just looked annoyed. "You little," Ace grit his teeth and shot a wind spell back at him, which Grim dodged just in time.
If Yuu looked angry before, now she was downright looking murderous. How dare he try to hurt Grim? MINE!
A crowd began to form around them.
"Is there a fight?"
"On the first day? Cool! Fight! Fight!"
Dahlia saw this and sighed before deciding to step in. Yuu looked like she was about to lose it. And Ace wasn't helping by attacking Grim. Actually, when Ace shot that wind spell at Grim, Dahlia himself felt like tearing Ace's throat out. Grim was his now. But Dahlia has a better grip on his emotions than Yuu seems to have.
As Dahlia activated his magic, an annoying shock at his neck made him grimace. Of course the stupid thing was still active, even during school. But he didn't let it bother him. Dahlia was used to the pain by now.
"Freeze"

When Ace's feet got stuck to the ground with ice, he felt confused. Ace looked around to see what was happening, and then his hand, the one that was holding his magic pen, froze into an ice cube too!
The crowd of students seemed to notice this as well, as they started to whisper among themselves.
"It's the first day of school, don't embarrass yourselves with a fight and then getting in trouble." The person who seemed to be the source of the ice told him and the little furball.
"Oh damn, it's that second year Moirai!"
"His ice magic is crazy isn't it?"
"I heard his control over it is among the best in the world!"
"Really?! I heard he was stupid in like all school subjects."
"Yeah, but not ice magic. Is that even his UM?"
Ace frowned, how was he supposed to know he messed with some second year?!
The crowd dispersed as the one who currently looked feral, the magicless guy. sent them a nasty look. Yeesh, why does that one look like he wants to kill him?
Ace was not having a good day.

Dahlia dropped the ice spell, causing Ace to let out a sigh of relief while shaking his feet and hand to regain the warmth the ice had stolen. Dahlia had no doubt his fingers on his pen hand were likely numb.
Serves him right for making fun of his Fauteum. Wait, when did Dahlia start thinking of them like that?! Sure they're fate ties, but they just met! Ugh, these instincts are messing with my mind.
"Yuu, Grim, let's go before a teacher, or Seven forbid Crowley, catches wind of this. Classes will start soon, I'll walk you to your first class," Dahlia called out to them and started walking forward, sparing no second glance at Ace.
Yuu sent one last angry glare at Ace before grabbing Grim and following Dahlia.
