HYPOCRISY
MOM: Your issues with food are controlled by you. I am responsible for mine. The abundant world we live in challenges self control. I am guilty of not having self control with food the last 25 years. Before that I had no self control with cigarettes..... Life is hard. But I am at peace with who I am.
ME: I know, but you can't say that your actions did not influence mine. I didn't choose what I was given to eat as a kid. And I didn't have someone stopping me from destroying myself. As an adult, yes I'm responsible, but these habits are learned just like any other, they are influenced. You can't take credit for the good qualities about me, and place the bad qualities on me alone
