Fatherly Teasing: Family Problems (Part 13)
Co-written by @Rhage_SASBDB, @FmrCopBONeal, @Leethall_SASBDB and @Mehgan_RP
Rhage: *I walk in the clinic and see Leethall sitting on one of the lounges by the pool talking with a female. I know I’ve never seen her before. I wonder how he got permission to bring a stranger or a non-trainee into the clinic area. I know he doesn’t want to be in the manse with the rest of the family. He still does not want anything to do with us in the family subject. So, I walk over to them and introduce myself. * Hey Leethall, who is this bright spirited female? Hello, I’m Rhage, father to Leethall here. *I extend my hand for her to shake.* @Leethall_SASBDB
Leethall: Leethall only gave Rhage a short glance as he entered the medical suite, tensing up a little as he realized the blonde Brother was coming towards himself and Mehgan. He narrowed his eyes and let out a growl towards Rhage as he extended a hand towards Mehgan, giving it a slap. “Don’t touch her,'' he said and offered Rhage a less than friendly look, doing what he could to suppress his annoyance at the arrival of his father. He had hoped for some private time with Mehgan without anyone keeping an eye of him, directly or through tracers. @Mehgan_RP
Mehgan: *Looking at the tall Brother who introduces himself as Leethall’s father. I reached out to shake his hand just as Leethall slaps it away, shocked I pull my hand back quickly. I look between them nervous* Leethall, is everything ok? Should I go home? *I don’t want to get between a father and his son during a quarrel. I’ve never had my own family to fight with, so it scares me when I see it with others. I go to stand to have Leethall escort me out since I cannot leave on my own.* I don’t want to come between anything.
Rhage: *A slight growl came from my chest as I looked over at Leethall.* Look, Kid. I was just going to introduce myself. Nothing to get tense about. I have my own female to look after and you know that. *I look at Mehgan again.* I apologize for the family squabble and you’re not coming in between anything. Leethall just needs to learn his place. *Looking back at Leethall narrowing my eyes.* We will discuss this later son. So Mehgan, how did you two meet? And your name Mehgan daughter of whom? @Mehgan_RP
Leethall: Leethall bares his fangs momentarily towards Rhage as he was scolded, his right hand resting on Mehgan’s shoulder to keep her close to him. “Mehgan … no, you’re not getting in between anything or anyone”, he explained and sighed softly. “You don’t have to leave,'' he said and took a few deep breaths to calm himself. His disdain for Rhage would have to be on the backburner while Mehgan was around, or he would scare her off, that much was clear. He offered Rhage an annoyed look but stayed close to Mehgan. “Hospital, when Face Tattoo asked me to pick up some things” he responded and peered towards Mehgan as Rhage asked about her lineage. Leethall hadn’t asked her himself because he didn’t care all that much. That and the whole family subject wasn’t one he liked to talk about personally, so there was no reason to bring the subject up, to begin with. @Mehgan_RP
Mehgan: *Looking between the two as the subject came up about her family. That was one subject she avoided with anyone but with Leethall by her side her nervousness about it didn’t seem that apparent.* Just Mehgan. I don’t know my family. I raised myself for as long as I can remember. *I didn’t even shake this time about the subject either I was just hoping that Leethall didn’t push me away now that he knows since his father was a part of the Brotherhood.* I’ve always taken care of myself. And when I first met Leethall at the hospital I just had to get to know him better. We just clicked. *Oh, wow way to gush like a teenage girl.*
Rhage: *Listening to her short story and nodding where needed, I kept my eyes on Leethall I can tell he’s really listening and very interested in this female. And I’m liking his notions maybe she will change his whole demeanor toward giving me a chance and listening to how I feel, I never would have dreamed that his mahmen would have carried my young and I missed everything.* There’s nothing wrong with that. Shows you’re a brave female. Looks like you may give Leethall a run for his money. What about Leethall? Have you told her about your lineage? *Eyes his reaction to my question.*
Leethall: Leethall looked to Mehgan as she spoke of her growing up without a family and taking care of herself since she was young. He couldn’t imagine what she went through in terms of her transition and felt lucky he at least had his mahmen at his side when he was going through the ordeal. He blinked a few times when Rhage asked him if he had told Mehgan about his own bloodline and he shook his head, heaving a soft sigh. “I haven’t … I didn’t want to scare her or drive her away because of it,” he replied, chaining his temper so he didn’t lash out at the brother again. It obviously made Mehgan uncomfortable and he didn’t want her to leave right now. He looked to Mehgan with an apologetic look on his face. “I’m Leethall, blooded son of the brother Rhage and Serana, daughter of Terem and Filamina” he said and wrinkled his nose. He’d never introduced himself like that before. Hell, he’d never really introduced himself at all before, so it was weird and sent his head into a slight tailspin. He tried remembering what the hell he was doing and looked to Mehgan. “Please… don’t be scared of me…” he almost pleaded as he let his voice grew faint. Shit, was he on the verge of crying at the thought of Mehgan backing away from him in fear?
Mehgan: *Watching Leethall talk about his life and oh, wow his lineage, I didn’t know he was the son of a Brother from the Brotherhood. That was scary but it didn’t define who he is. Everyone has their own minds and works on their own futures.* Why would I be scared of you Leethall? Your lineage doesn't define you. You do. *It almost seemed like he didn’t want to say who his family was. At least he knew where he came from. I’d like to know who and where I came from.* Since I don’t know my lineage. Do you think you could help me? I’d like to know why or even where I come from.
Leethall: Leethall quickly averted his eyes, not wanting his inner weakness to show. He hated his lineage, but he wasn’t about to bring that up right now. It would just make him look like more of an ass. “Well … where I grew up, the Brotherhood was more feared than anything, especially because the King was one, I guess” he said and shook his head trying to get his shit together before he spoke more. “That’s the first time I’ve heard anyone say that ...”, he admitted and looked towards Rhage for a short second, just to see how the Brother was reacting to all of this. He then carefully wrapped his left arm around Mehgan as she asked him to help her find her lineage, his right hand finding hers, giving it a squeeze, he hoped was reassuring. “If there is something I can do, I will, Mehgan. Anything at all, just ask. I’ll do my best to get you anything you need”, he said and peered towards Rhage, almost as if to ask if Rhage would lend a hand as well.
Rhage: *Listening to their conversation and Leethall’s tone when he said my name. Hearing the flow of his lineage and my name was a bad taste in his mouth made my heartache. How I wish I would have known about him while he was a young I could have him raised around the brothers and his Mahmen would have passed on honorably no shame. Mehgan’s voice shaky talking about her past and not knowing of her family. Now Leethall wants my help now I’m his father that I can be of convince*
What are you looking to me for? I can’t do anything. You need to take that up with someone else. You’ve told me time and time again. You don’t want anything to do with me.
*Let’s see how he can take my teasing. To help Mehgan and Leethall I’ll go to V he’s good at finding people and where they come from.*
Leethall: Hearing Rhage’s flat rejection didn’t surprise Leethall one bit, though he didn’t expect the male to be so blunt right in front of Mehgan. He let go of the female and got to his feet, walking towards Rhage as his fangs bared. “Do you have to be such an ass right in front of her, you damn bastard?!”, he yelled as he tightened his fist, raising it before he caught himself and lowered it, his rage still as evident with how he was growling. “You don’t want to help, fine! I’ll do it myself, you useless waste of male” he and rammed his fist into the wall, making an obvious dent with cracks, his blue eyes fixed on his supposed father. “Tell me, are you being an ass because she’s special to me, or do you still abandon females in general? I bet if Mary asked this of you, you’d jump at the chance to help her!” @Rhage_SASBDB
Rhage: *Watching Leethall make a fool of himself right in front of Meghan. I look at the wall then back to him and right at Meghan the surprise on her face.* Temper, temper Leethall. *I nod at Meghan.* I don’t think you want to do that in front of her. I didn’t say I wouldn’t help. I said I can’t. You need to go to Wrath for permission. I’ll go talk to V he’s the one who can do that stuff. Don’t you ever bring my shellen up like that. And I didn’t abandon your mahmen. I didn’t know about you till you showed up here.
Now you need to calm down and look at what you’ve done. I know you hate me but don’t take it out on the nice wall here that didn’t do anything to you. You want to go. Let’s go to the training room and have it out. *I point over my shoulder as I go right in his face.* Meghan this has nothing to do with you. This is between Leethall and I. I’m sorry he wants to do it right in front of you.
Mehgan: *I cover my mouth and back away from the two males standing like they are going to fight right here. And I’ve never seen Leethall so angry. And I don’t understand why. He’s talking about abandonment and Rhage’s shellen I’m so confused about the whole situation.* Leethall it’s fine, we can talk about this later. It’s not important. Rhage, Leethall please don’t do this. @FmrCopBONeal
Butch: [I had come to run again on the treadmill with the sleepless nights, I have been having. Walking around the corner, I see Rhage and Leethall ready to go at it. Throwing down my gym bag. I run in and put my arms between them and look at them both. Pushing more on Rhage.] Okay guys, what's going on? A little father-son bonding going on here. [Looking at Rhage.] We really don’t want this to happen in the clinic. [Turning my head to look at Leethall.] Well it is the right place for any injuries you might get kid, but not the right time, especially in front of your female.
Leethall: The situation had escalated quite explosively in a matter of minutes. Leethall’s temper was running wild and he tried desperately to reign it in as soon as he heard Mehgan’s voice trying to calm him down and diffuse the whole thing. You could cut the tension with a knife as leethall stood there, teeth bared at his father, a brother between them trying to separate them and talk sense of all things. Leethall eventually stepped down and rolled his shoulders, not making more of an issue with it. “Fine …” He heaved a sigh and walked over towards Mehgan, standing close by her as he turned his head, looking towards Rhage. “I’d be grateful if you would talk to your brother. If he doesn’t want to help, that’s fine too. But know I am grateful for the gesture in itself. And I apologise, I was out of line for bringing your shellan into things” he said before looking back to Mehgan. “We shouldn’t stay down here. The garden is better suited for you … Or I can take you home if you want ...” He didn’t really blame her if she wanted to go home after he ran his mouth like that. It really was just his personality, flying off the handle and tackle all conversations with his fists rather than actual words. Obviously not worth a second glance, he knew that.
Mehgan: *Listening to the group of males talking. Breathing a sigh of relief when one of the other Brothers came running to calm things down. I stand and go to Leethall, gently placing my hand on his arm and smiling up at him.* I’m not ready to go home. I would love a walk in the gardens with you. *As we walk away I look up at him and sigh.* You need to let go of this anger you have toward Rhage “Your father.” I can see the hurt in his eyes just then when you two went at it. Please listen to him, don’t just hear it. Listen to him. Now, show me this garden I’d love to look at the stars and smell the flowers with you. *I truly hope he takes time to really get to understand his father. At least he knows who he is.*
Butch: [Watches as the two lovebirds leave shaking my head.] You okay, Hollywood. [Waiting for his reply I walk over to where I threw down my gym bag and pick it up. Not much in there but a water bottle full of Lag and my headphones.] Leethall, reminds me a lot of someone else I know. Just remember that DNA plays a big part in life and he has part of yours. [I get on the treadmill.] And Rhage, if you need to talk, I am here. [I fire up the treadmill inclining as far as it can go. I need to feel the burn to run from whatever I am running from. My heavy thighs pound down on the tread and the treadmill whines like it’s protesting. With a hiss and pop and smoke, the treadmill comes to stall. Well, fuck.] Hey Hollywood since this POS just shit out why don’t you and I go get drinks at Trez’s place. Or we can find some lessers to kill. What do you say to that?
Rhage: *Looking at Butch trying to use the treadmill and it busting I had to laugh.* Brother, I’m fine, we will work through it, it may have to come down to someone or myself knocking that chip off his shoulder, somehow he will believe the truth. It will come out. *Listening to him bitch about the equipment I just shake my head.* Drinks are always good. We can go anywhere I think I need something anything. Let me text Mary so she’ll I’m not coming back to the suite. *I look at my son walk away from me and knowing that he hates me. I don’t know what all he’s been told about me, I just know he hates me and the brotherhood. Dear Scribe please help me figure this out. I text Mary and follow Butch out to the SUV.* Your choice Brother.
Leethall: It was a definite relief to feel Mehgan’s hand on his arm. It helped him calm down a lot faster than normal. A definite cure for his flaring temper, even if he’d still lost it in front of her. An accomplishment he wasn’t about to go brag about anywhere at all. Rather, he’d lock it up tight inside and use it to bash himself later. Just another stone in you’re-an-asshat bag. Her words snapped him out of his thoughts and he instead looked to her, listening closely to her advice regarding his non-relationship to his father and the violent communication attempts between them. He had hoped they wouldn’t have to talk about that, but he wasn’t about to ask Mehgan to stay out of it. That would be a fuck-you cherry on top of the shit-cake he’d already served with the revelation of his bloodline. “I wish it was a simple thing to do,” he said and shook his head. “It might be, I don’t know. Maybe part of me doesn’t want to hear what he has to say, but I’ll make an effort” he said and looked to her, hoping she wouldn’t cower from him. Rather she actually smiled and asked to see the garden. “Of course! I bet you’ll love it” he exclaimed and smiled carefully. Something he’d developed a bit of a habit of doing whenever this female was around him.
