Paying Tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew at the Parliament House, Lying in State 28 March 2015 | It was a really heartening and worthwhile experience and I don't think I'll ever regret it even though I went alone and queued for almost 4h just for 30s of time in his presence and to pay my respect. I was so numb right after those 30s. And while queuing I was thinking woah so this is indeed the influence of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, uniting the nation (over 1 million in 4 days can you believe it, who else in the world can gain so much support) and so many important leaders from overseas to pay their respects to him. To all the officers, ns men, vagil guards, organisers and volunteers, sincerely want to thank you for being extremely supportive, helpful, patient and nice and putting smiles on their faces even though I'm sure they were really tired. You guys were the ones who allowed so many of us to pay our respects with your efficiency and the way things were handled! It was bearable and honestly not that bad queueing thanks to y'all. Everyone queueing was just so gracious too and I felt the Singaporean spirit/LKY spirit loud and clear. I really hope this continues long after this week of mourning>< #rememberingLKY #fatherofournation #LKYspirit #Singaporeanspirit -You do not have to read on haha- //And to Mr Lee: Dear Mr Lee, Thank you so much, for everything. A million thank yous won't even be enough but we have really felt all that you've done for us from the bottom of our hearts. And even though the younger generation such as myself might not feel the impact of your contributions as strongly because Singapore was already so great when we were born, every Singaporean wouldn't be where he/she is today without you. Singapore is seriously so so lucky to have you. Your life is an inspiration to all of us. I wish I were half as great, selfless and dedicated a person as you were. But rest assured we will take care of Singapore and carry on your legacy. So may you be happy wherever you are right now. You are the most deserving of this. And you will live in our minds and hearts forever, Mr Lee♥ Yours sincerely, Yi Qi (at Tribute for Late Mr Lee Kuan Yew At Parliament House)
