murphy would be offended if he knew what bellamy was thinking. if he accused him for being the reason that clarke was dead, if he accused him of being the reason she took the nightblood or the reason she gave up her suit, or the reason she did ANYTHING. clarke’s decisions have always been her own. her decision to take the nightblood had begun with her decision to try and test it on emori. her decision to take the suit off had stemmed, again, from that same decision. her decision to stay behind and to die for them had nothing to do with him. and he’d be furious to find out that bellamy thought otherwise.
as it stands, however, he doesn’t know what bellamy is thinking. he doesn’t know, and so rather than fighting with him, for once, he’s trying to ease some of his suffering. he knows bellamy is alone, knows he’s missing his other half. even if he and clarke have never been what he and emori are, what monty and harper are, they’re a team. and now bellamy is on his own. “look, okay? i get it. i get you’re having a hard time, just--- stop beating yourself up about it, alright? it’s not your fault, it’s not anyone’s fault.”
