Pale skin glistened with droplets of water, reflecting from the afternoon’s sun as it began its descent to the horizon. Cherry red hair had been brushed off her face, gliding down her back. Lydia had been enjoying the peace, alone in the beautiful lake that resides at the parameters of the royal estate. But upon hearing his voice, emerald eyes had searched and landed on her best friend who was now entering the water. Lydia looked down. Most of her naked frame was covered.

“I swear to the Angel, Magnus,” she cringes, shoulders 𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇 as she is laughing through an empty threat. She had said Magnus was 𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 to style her hair and give her wedding options but she didn’t think he would go this far as to ruffling and back combing. Clary did 𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓 that he knew what he was doing, but she wasn’t sure just what he was doing. It made it a little harder when he 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐃 to let her peak in a mirror. “I thought we would just make 𝐅𝐔𝐍 of Jace for boasting about his killing streak again to young Emma Carstairs. I wanted a fun sleepover, Magnus. But I trust you, just be careful, you’re 𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 at a couple strands there.”

                                                      alec stared at him in struck silence. finally, he whispered, “how are you real?” looking at magnus, even his worst thoughts and fears in the world couldn’t convince alec that he was lying, or being poetic for the sake of it, or stretching the truth. magnus had… a way of saying the truly honest things that made alec’s heart flutter almost painfully. he swallowed. then his lips curled slightly at the corners, the awed look still in his eyes as he took his hand and squeezed it. “i know you have a lot of future after me… but i’ve never imagined much of mine. in fact, i think i spent most of my time trying not to. but ever since you i- ever since you, the fear i feel shifted. now i’m afraid of how much i want to. how much i want this, us, in it. i don’t think i realized it until we were apart. i knew then that i could survive without you, and maybe even find some kind of happiness, but i didn’t want to. i wanted the happiness with you. the kind you taught me, and made me feel. i wanted you. i still do. i don’t believe i’ll ever stop, magnus. if it’s up to me, i’m not going anywhere.”
