I just realized..! Spike says to buffy in S6 I love you and buffy says no you don’t. And in S7 buffy says I love you and spike says no you dont. And its perfect because spike did love buffy in s6 but not the way she needed to be loved. Not with his whole soul. And buffy did love spike in S7 but not the way he needed to be loved, with his whole soul. By that time spike loved buffy with his whole soul. He was litteraly burning in the love he feels for buffy. And buffy wasn’t there yet. She loved him. She loved him in S6 and she loved him more in S7. But not as wholeheartetly as spike did at that point. She will get there. They will get there. But not yet. They love each other, they love each other so much. but not the way they will after more time. Buffy will catch up to loving spike that fiercely, her whole character and character arc says so. She needs more time. And luckily, in thousands of fanons and headcanons and comiccanons they will have it. They will get that time and their love will be magnificent!!!
