New Myusical Moon Actress Ranking
Since Satomi-Moon has officially graduated and left us with, in my opinion, the best Infinity Musical, I figured it would be a nice time to do a ranking of the five Moon actresses:
5) Fumina-Moon: I think Shin Densetsu really was Fumina’s setback. Her first musical was pretty much a re-write of Anza’s last show, and Anza had five years of playing a character and a great cast behind her, many of which had been in their roles for years. Although she did decently in the Kaguya musicals, she didn’t thrive as either Usagi or Sailor Moon for me, although her Neo Queen Serenity was gorgeous! She did deliver good vocals, and was an okay dancer too.
4) Marina-Moon: Marina was really, really cute. She did a good Usagi, and a decent enough Moon. Her musicals though tended to be a cluster-bomb due to cast size. I feel like at times 20+ people would be on stage and other you would lose Marina in the shuffle. She got overshadowed way too easily for me. Case in point her “Stars” musicals, I feel like Yuu (her Tuxedo Mask) stole any scene they were in together. One thing that she wins at over any other Moon is for her dancing. She dances her butt off, and she hands down had the best choreography than any previous Moons.
3) Miyuki-Moon: Miyuki was Usagi to me. She was super cute, and I feel like she literally sparkled. Her Moon was good too, and she got the benefit of having a mostly original (Last Dracul being the slight exception) story arc, so she couldn’t really be compared in that regard to the previous two Moons. While I may have preferred Marina-Moon’s vocals over Miyuki, Miyuki had a stronger presence overall. It is a bit unfair, since I know Marina was only 12 when she started, but even by her last Musicals, she never really wowed me the way Miyuki could.
2) Satomi-Moon: If I only had her La Reconquista/Petite Etrangere performances, I would have put Satomi under Miyuki. But with UnVoyage, Satomi really came into her own, delivered a great Usagi and a wonderful, powerful Moon performance. Satomi’s strength also comes from her cast. Their dynamic is so good, that any scene they are all in, they all shine in their roles. Satomi may not be the best vocalist or dancer of all the Moon actresses, but she is very well balanced.
1) Anza-Moon: Anza has a slightly unfair advantage because she was in the role the longest, therefore had more time to grow into her role. But anyone who has watched her Supers K - Eien K musicals can not deny she does an excellent Usagi and her Moon can be playful and happy go lucky in one instant and go to powerhouse, savior of the universe in a second. Like Satomi, I feel like Anza often had really great casts, which helped her bring so much life and emotion to all of her scenes. Honestly I cannot watch the original Sorezore no Elegy (1996 Stars version) without wanting to cry. Vocally she is the strongest singer of the Moons, but her choreography sometimes does not stand the test of time, especially if you look at her first and second musicals.
I hope we get some sort of announcement for a Dream musical soon! Honestly I could due without another Stars musical, there have been enough of those. Maybe they are going to let the Crystal!Infinity anime start before announcing anything? I think the smartest thing to do would be to do an original musical, let the anime catch up, and do a Dream musical while the Dream anime is playing.
I’ll stop myself now before I go into a Myu-tangent. Any Myu fans want to share their own Moon Ranking list?
