Another appreciation post for some of the small or subtle CC items that I really enjoy having in my game (part one here).

Firstly, the temple hair accessory strands by @wotunciba ! I really love how they add just that little bit of extra personality to a hairstyle, and there's so many different versions to play with. The link will also take you to accessory ahoge and extensions which are also super useful!! Such a genius idea!

Next up are @rheallsim 's hairlines - I've actually forgotten whether Sax in the photos above has Whispy or Droll, but I love both AND all their other hairlines! I use them almost exclusively. They're just SO pretty.

While I'm talking about accessory strands, I have to mention @sunivaa 's Polly hair strands which I've used for some time now whenever I want to make Sax look a little disheveled (I'm using v1 in these pictures. I know it's not super clear in the first one as that hairstyle already had a lot of loose strands, but the extra one was very much the cherry on top for me).

Another more subtle detail is the defined hands overlay by @sims4nexus . I'm lazy and didn't go into game to take a with/without comparison, but I really like the way they enhance the hands! I also super like the defined legs overlay too, it's just that I'm a hand fan and tend to take more close-ups of those 😆

hi :D do you have any good bookcase suggestions? i cannot find ANY good ones (simple-ish, aka not crazy themed ones) and i want to cry... currently on day 3 of looking 😭

oh i FELT this!!! i swear bookcases always get overlooked and it can be hard to find ones that fit with different decor styles.

I also have to recommend this mod by @ilexsims - it makes decorative book clutter/decor functional, meaning you can add one on to any basic shelf and instantly turn it into a functional bookcase!

I've been meaning to do this little appreciation post for AGES (I keep backing out over fear that my screenshots won't do them justice 😅), but I wanted to shout out two pieces of CC that I've been using lately which are subtle in their effect, but are an absolute requirement for me now.

Firstly it's the Dynamic Eye Depth sclera details by @simadream !!

For the last 4 years I've been using some CC facepaint eyes on my Sims which I absolutely adore, and which have very much become their signature look, but they had that shadow effect on them which looks great in neutral poses and not so good in any pose where the eyeballs are looking to the side/looking down.

I really wanted to keep their iris design but I also wanted more flexibility for posing, so I was genuinely trying to figure out how to edit each individual swatch... and then Simadream released this incredible piece of CC and unknowingly answered my prayers.

The sclera detail just overlays whatever eyes you're using and instantly fixes that problem. When I say my jaw dropped at the transformation... 🥹 It's also available in several slots which makes it SO useful. Thank you Simadream I am absolutely obsessed with this, you're a genius 🙏🙏

The next piece of CC is @adelarsims ' Neck Shadow detail!!

I grabbed this on release and it's on ALL of my male Sims now. Again, it's so subtle, but the difference it makes is just chef's kiss. I really really love that there are different levels of opacity, and options for a soft jawline and a really sharp one (I use the soft one for my story stuff, but the sharp one looks really cool for photoshoots).

In fact, having moved from alpha skin to MM and skin details, my Sims are like 90% AdelarSims' design now because I also downloaded their entire catalogue of genetics/skin details (I'm new to this I'm not sure if those terms are interchangeable 😅) and hnnghgdhdhd I love how they make my Sims look.

Thank you Adelar for making such gorgeous Sims and for providing us with the opportunity to make our own Sims look pretty too, you're an absolute star 🙏🙏

I should probably have put clothes on them first I guess but 🤷 Fen's hairstyles were made for him by the incredible @electricwhims btw I'm losing my mind over them!! They will be available publicly at some point! Sax's hairs are of course his own and this snood hair !

Hey! Okay so I use....a LOT of CC wallpapers ashjhgfdfghjhgfd, i'd list all my favourites but this post would be 5 billion gazillion years long welp. BUT about 99% of the wallpapers I use are by the same three creators, so these are some of my faves by them. I'll also link ALL the wallpapers I have by them under the cut, so as not to clog up peoples dashes asdfgfdsasdfg. hope this helps!
